hey Sirikittong! you're so pretty... :specool:

how did you learn to speak Tagalog? :thumb:

as far as i know, most "big vessels" of the Philippine Navy are based at the naval base in Cavite, a province south of Manila. BRP Rajah Humabon (ex-USS Atherton) is the one conducting long-range patrols on Philippine territory and EEZ and is often deployed at the Spratlys.

I know some Tagalog, some Malay, a bit of Vietnamese, fluent in Thai and of course English. I have had man Filipino friends who taught me Tagalog. I also have an affinity for things Filipino. ;)

So most of the naval contingents are in the north? I am so amazed how the PN deploys so few naval ships to such a HUGE coastal terrain. I must say I am very impressed how you deal with Chinese incursions, piracy, muslim insurgency and maintaining the sea lanes at the same time with such limited naval force. My applause goes to you!

I was reading an article on the spratleys a w hile ago and I have to say..I started laughing on the reported incidents how the PN 'rammed' Chinese pirate boats/fishing boats. lol! I love that tactic! My respects. :aberet:

Sirikittong: well, that makes the Philippine Navy a very admirable force in spite of its shortcomings when it comes to equipment.

to enlighten you about the composition and background of the Philippine Navy, you can try visit http://hueybravo.net/Philippine%20Navy%20Main.htm and http://timawa.net/pn.htm. those pages are from the websites of our comrades Manokski and Opus.

you can see that the PN has museum pieces in service...

Thanks for the links.

Admirable. I like the collection of patrol craft, as well as the 'Ang Pangulo'. Very impressive presidential ship.

Sirikittong: i really wish the Philippine Navy has naval vessels similar to the Royal Thai Navy. you Thais have both blue water and brown water ships, making the RTN a very credible force.

Yes, thank you Israeli. I am proud to serve our navy as well and believe me it is quite rewarding to be an officer in our ships; protecting our sea lines and the Isthmus of Kra is our duty.

I took time and effective distribution of funds for our military (specially navy) to have our current forces. I am sure, with proper governmental will national support, the PN will expand its surface fleet. It will take time, but I have full confidence in Manila to prove itself yet again.

:mademyd: You guys have been extremely friendly and warm in this forum. I wish you all the best!

ps. dont let our little singaporean friends ruin our day eh. lol :aberet:
