This could be our first air-defense missile, at only $300K, the PAF could acquire this low-cost yet effective missile system.

100 Stunner missiles would only cost the DND P1.2 billion!

max 70kms...Israel originally designed this as an anti-Katyusha rocket missile but could now also intercept Hezbollah's Fajr and Zilzal missiles.

A few batteries of the Stunner in KIG and Palawan could give second thoughts to other claimants.

The missile/launch system itself is relatively cheap compared to other systems (Patriot reportedly costs $1 million per missile) but needs a really good radar system to achieve successful kill ratios.

In Israel, the Stunner is just part of the Magic Wand air-defense system.

Still, this could be a viable option for RPs first air-defense missile system.

i think the posted price is just for the missile alone.
a missile defense needs a network,radars,control centres..etc.
maybe it's built like the spike missile. made of common commercial chips, etc to keep cost down.

Israel will start deploying the Stunner late this year. Price will go down further once full production is on and other countries start buying in too.

I think Raytheon and Rafael will be marketing complete low cost package including radar system based on Magic Wand.

Nice.

If its by Israel, it must be good. I think the AFP should really take a look at the Stunner, with the improving Peso-Dollar rate, we could probably afford a few batteries in the next year or two.

Time to put some in Pag-asa Island, what do you think?

can any one forward a letter to the philippine DND about this :snipemo:
"No sacrifice is too great in the service of freedom."

“As long as we are not willing to provide an adequate, suitable and capable defense for this country, we will be oppressed, demeaned and dishonored. We will be the stepping mat of every country in this region,”(Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile)

“Just because we are a very weak country militarily, we should not be taken advantage of by more powerful countries" (Senate committee on national defense and security chairman Panfilo Lacson)
