tempting to jump on the bandwagon but... whose's going to build it?
the local climate is not even condusive to local aerospace maintenance contracts much more to manufacturing so whos going to build it? just being realistic.

dont waste your youth in getting your hopes up.

We're Filipinos, we're resourceful and we'll eventually find a way. Now, we should make our plane out of Bamboo, wood and cardboard! Paper too, plus glue to hold it all. And then, we should use helium-filled balloons to lift the plane and electric fans for moving! That's a true Filipino plane.

I believe that was done before during the Marcos era. Don't know what happened with it. Maybe eaten by termites... Good static display for the Air Museum sana.

Those who doubt the we cannot do it kindly read this one:

PADC TODAY

From very humble beginnings, PADC has indeed taken strides to become today a very reliable aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facility. Today, it is on a mission to upgrade it's capabilities and became the repair and maintenance hub for different types of aircraft including the wide body types that are flying in the country and in the Asia Pacific region.

Recently PADC made the initial steps towards a practical cooperation with companies representing the Russian Aviation Industry in selling to the Philippines or in establishing joint ventures for production of airplane and helicopters in the Philippines. These companies are the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant and Irkut Corporation of the Russian Federation. PADC has likewise signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Eurocopter Phils. Inc. making PADC the sole accredited repair station for Eurocopter helicopters in the Philippines. Under a transfer of technology program between Eurocopter Phils. And PADC, Filipino engineers and mechanics will undergo technical training in France, cost-free.

All told, the key thrust of PADC is to become a leading contender in the global aviation industry. And as the future beckons with more different challenges to meet, more records to surpass, more trying tasks to accomplish. PADC is proud that it has moved the Filipino closer to his vision of a more meaningful tomorrow.

The latest aircraft, avionics and engine developments will be showcased by the Sukhoi Company, MiG Russian Aircraft Corporation, Ilyushin Aviation Complex, Helicopters of Russia, Irkut Corporation, Kamov, Ulan-Ude Aircraft Plant, Rostvertol, Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, Klimov, Avionika Concern, Yalamov Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant (UOMZ) and others."

i guess that's me..

wow i guess i stand corrected then, PADC assembled and i think presently maintains some of PAF's a/c like the britten norman islander,MBB Bo-105(now Eurocopter),S-211 and SF-250 they are also involved in modifying it to turbo. as they(PADC) are govt owned. not an entrepreneur venture. and usually it is pretty common as economic offset to let "the" aerospace firm of a particular country assemble the aircrafts ordered by their govt.

i can only wish that dynosaur actually intends to build aircraft. hehe
guess we'll see it in a few years then

but interesting link i guess the russians are really into selling us russian chopper/birds to the point they are willing to play the partnership/press release dance(projects). goodluck to them then.
our institutions are not called dynosaurs for nothing..most probably we'll still be buying hueys(and i think we are :armycheers: ).
