Wives of top ranking miltary officials in the country have been criticized for allegedly using the military plane C-130 for their trip to Davao City early this week.

The report said, soldiers who were suppose to officially board the plane were made to wait for more than an hour as the wives of the generals were the ones given the priority over the lowly soldiers.

It was learned that they just attended the "birthday"party of a businesswoman in the city.

On their way back to Manila Tuesday, the generals' wives again boarded the C-130 and were again given the priority seats. The soldiers were again made to wait for several minutes.

My comments: Military planes should only be used to transport soldiers and military equipment to and from their AOR in connection with their mission or duties, during emergencies, relief operations and other urgent humanitarian missions. Outside from the above purposes, it is deemed to be illegal and those who are responsible will be dealt with in accordance with the existing laws prohibiting the use of government vehicles for personal or leisure purposes.

The C-130's should also not be used to transport the personal cars and belongings of the generals.

Thank Goodness the C-130s don't go to Hong Kong or other destinations like that where the General's wives can go shopping at the people's expense.

This article says the AFP Ladies Club were there to launch a fund campaign for the benefit of soldiers and not to party.

Even if it was true, it can't justify the use of the military plane. In a simple view, these defense gadgets should not be used illegally for any activity except for it's specified and defined purposes. Utililizing it for a fund raising regardless of it's purpose and nature defies reason.

Their reason to justify the illegal use of the plane is utterly superficial. It is a military aircraft and for it to be used by civilians in a fund raising exercise is highly questionable, abhorrent, and illegal. I could not imagine of any reason for this things to be taken for granted by the government agency that implements the law on unlawful usage of government vehicles in the same manner to that of the civilian sector of the government.

It is quite revolting to see the laws of restriction only applied to the civilian sector of the government, while the military is showing it's arrogance and balatant defiance with a high privilege of condonation and impunity.

This is what I wrote on the other forum on a similar thread.

Come to think of it, we should not condemn these ladies. Imagine they have the balls to ride the C-130 of which some of those reporters keeps on calling as flying coffins. If they were given the VIP treatment, they could have made used of those Fokkers and Nomads. It could have been an education process on the PAF's part showing these ladies the hardships our soldiers and their dependents are experiencing taking a ride on those workhorses. Medyo kulang lang sa info sa mga reporters or medyo kulang lang sa pansin sila that they just saw the negative side of the event.

We should get mad if we see them ladies charter a commercial flight on the PAF's tab or see them going abroad with their families. Just like the wife of Gen. Garcia who even brag of her husband's position when confronted by the U.S. Customs regarding the money they were carrying.

sometimes the C-130 is used beyond the call of duty, like humanitarian efforts and disaster reliefs.

I got the info, but mind you, it said that only Esperon's wife and some of them were on a commercial flight, but the others were with the C-130.

I'm sure they were in the manifest that until now there was no official denial or admission from the Airforce to reverse the facts.
