Its the drug placed on the card or cloth. Worse kung babae as maari kayong ma-rape (well, sa men halos ganun na rin ang risk). Kaya extra ingat lang mga peeps. Sure wish you can just shoot them and let the vultures have them after. Such sort don't deserve to be called humans. Kindly move it to the correct section kung hindi pwede rito. |

Fellows, if you know something about this "drug on the calling card" that makes you dizzy, please tell us how it works so we can do something to minimize the threat. Thanks. |

I think it is just simply spraying the calling or any card with the drug in the same manner as what perfume companies are doing when they promote a certain perfumes usually done in shopping malls or perfume shops, or those scenarios in James Bond movies. |

citing this case, a virus (anthrax) spreads slow when victim comes in contact with the card. moreover, the powdery look will make you suspect the anomally. an odorless colorless liquid or gas sprayed on the card will take time until it penetrates the skin and hit the nerves. also, it will harm the suspect as well since the suspect must hand it over by hand. in this case, it's a joke or if it's real it needs more proof that it works that way. for an agent or virus to take effect that fast, it must be taken orally, inhaled or induced into the body through the bloodstream. even the notorious cyanide compositions has to be taken large enough for it to start to cause harm. |

The suspect can himself be protected when handling the calling card by way of using a twizzer to handle it while poisonous substance is being sprayed onto it, then put it inside a transparent plastic packet then seal it. It would always appear to be a high-profile calling card judging by it's protection. The tendency is that the hapless suspect would remove it from the plastic sachet. This is now the time that the anomaly will take effect. |

Taxi driver in dragging incident embroiled in previous raps – NBI 12/03/2008 | 08:04 PM MANILA, Philippines - A team from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday afternoon trooped to the Quezon City Police District headquarters, where the taxi driver who duped and dragged a passenger was being detained. Primitivo Sarmiento, the taxi driver accused of robbing and dragging a female college student last week, turned out to be facing four other criminal charges. Sarmiento’s dubious past surfaced on Wednesday as agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) came to the Quezon City Police District headquarters, where he is being held, to serve an arrest warrant issued against him by the Manila Regional Trial Court. Superintendent Magtanggol Gatdula, chief of the QCPD’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, told reporters that the arrest warrant was in connection with a previous robbery case. Three indictments were also served to Sarmiento for his other pending cases of resistance to persons in authority, usurpation of authority, and driving without license, said Gatdula. Earlier in the day, police filed charges of estafa (fraud), grave coercion, serious physical injuries and kidnapping against Sarmiento in connection with the taxi dragging incident last Nov. 22. Police recommended no bail for the latest criminal charges. Superintendent Antonio Yarra, chief of the QCPD General Investigation Division, said other taxi commuters allegedly victimized by Sarmiento have also surfaced to coordinate with police investigators. Sarmiento, a resident of Muňoz in Quezon City, was arrested Monday morning through the help of fellow cab drivers concerned over the effect of the dragging incident on their livelihood. He was positively identified by the victim, Valerie, as the driver who tried to dupe, then robbed, dragged and threatened to kill her. The incident happened before dawn last Saturday when Valerie arrived at her house on board the taxi and handed a P1,000-bill to the driver. The fare on the meter, Valerie said, was P75. But the driver told her that her payment was not enough, maintaining that she gave him only three P20-bills, or P60. Valerie told him that the P1,000-bill was her last money and that she did not have P20-bills. At this point, she asked for help from her mother who then called barangay officials. Instead of waiting for mediation, the taxi driver tried to flee while Valerie was still inside his cab. Valerie pleaded for the driver to stop but was told that she would be killed. She tried to jump off the speeding taxi, but was held by the driver even as the taxi was moving. She was dragged and sustained cuts and bruises in the process. Police said the taxi operator could lose his franchise for allegedly changing the cab's body markings - from KUL to AM. Police also said that the plate number was apparently changed. - GMANews.TV http://www.gmanews.tv/story/137292/Taxi-dr...vious-raps--NBI |

I talked with my friend na na-victim doon sa dura/plema. Will see if I can find info on that reports sa TV. Maiksi lang kasi yun segment nila on that sa calling card MO. |

Low tech crime that easily victimizes people... Even cops are not spared by high-tech fraudsters 04/01/2009 | 09:02 PM TUGUEGARAO, Philippines – Even the police are not spared by fraudsters proliferating across the Philippine archipelago. Reports on Wednesday said the police in the northern city of Tuguegarao have sent out an alert against an individual or group claiming to be from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and trying to defraud not just residents and employees of various government offices but also members of the city police. Authorities said the chief of the Provincial Budget and Treasury Office of Cagayan province have complained that someone, who introduces himself as an attorney Roy Principe and an employee of DILG, has sent a SMS or text messages announcing an upcoming conference. The message sender reportedly asks for a prepaid load for his or her mobile phone before sending the conference details. Supt. Felix Dayag, Tuguegarao police chief, said his office has received several complaints from residents and other government offices of the same racket. Dayag admitted that he himself received a similar text message about a conference of all chiefs-of-police in the province. Tuguegarao is the capital of Cagayan, one of the biggest provinces in the Philippines. He said he was suspicious at first owing to the message sender’s unknown identity and when he checked the conference venue, which was supposed to be at the provincial capitol, it has not been booked at all. Dayag said he did not send any prepaid load to the suspicious number. A verification at the DILG central office showed that there is no lawyer or employee named Roy Principe in their roster of employees. Police said mobile phone users should report to authorities any suspicious text messages coming from unknown numbers so that they can immediately conduct an investigation on the matter. Modus operandi of fraudsters evolves every now and then. Even those who are tasked to catch them become victims. It showed that they are getting smarter day in and day out. Thanks to the modern communication technology. |
