:patrioticpinoy:

flashed on ANC , the gunship was reportedly shot down while providing support to marines in ongoing battle in basilan, the pilot was killed and co-pilot wounded.

if this is the case, the abus do have shoulder-fired missiles?

it will be easy to investigate since the chopper is still intact.

according to reports it was just engine trouble.

The last thing I would want to happen would be the planned acquisitions of new systems including helicopters and trainer /COIN planes be waylaid to shoulder the day-day costs of that massive offensive against the Abu Sayyaf and other Islamofascist groups. While the funds have already been allocated for such purchases, there are still 1001 ways including getting the President to order those funds diverted to vital expenditures like 5.56x45 rounds, bottles of dextrose, diesel fuel, cellphone load to supplement 2-way radios and yes, burial expenses for the KIAed.

While yes, the troops cannot do without such expenses, it will make their job much easier in finding and killing those terrorists if they get field in quantity NVGs, more portable-radios and FLIR-equipped scout helicopters.

it is not really a far-fetched possibility that the MILF does have SA-7 Strela shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles that it can use to shoot down PAF aircraft. the MILF has long been dealing with Pakistani terrorists, who have supplied the MILF with shiploads of weapons and equipment.

if the Tamil Tigers were able to secure SA-7 Strela MANPADS from these same Pakistani terrorists, it could also be possible that the same Pakistani terrorists supplied to the MILF several SA-7 MANPADS.

:scared:
