Sir Epigone;
Those two remind me of my two Chiuahuahs I once had. they were terror on strangers but docile to their master. Did anyone figure out who is controlling them? I believe I have.

Sir desertranger, since you want to know more about Gringo, here's one giveaway. Gringo is major stockholder of manufacturing plant of Nissan cars.

War is a grave state of affair-Sun Tzu. We're at war at present with the NPA. Trillanes and Honasan should relinquish their personal crusade against lawful presidents Arroyo and Cory but instead focus on fighting communist insurgency. They should not make Arroyo's or Cory's alleged foibles to be the cause of communist insurgency, hence, blame the two. We should not have been in this sorry state of poverty if not for Sison's terrorism. Nobody wants to invest in ours anymore. Arroyo and Aquino are not to blame. He who rides the tiger (NPA) would be devoured by the tiger. Never have I seen or heard Trillanes criticize Sison or the NPA.

DoJ begins review of Trillanes' coup d'etat charges

MANILA, Philippines - Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said the Department of Justice (DoJ) has started reviewing the records of the coup d'état case against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

De Lima is acting on orders of President Benigno Aquino III for DoJ to thoroughly review Trillanes' case.

Aquino said in a previous interview that the coup d'état charge brought against Trillanes may need some looking into.

"We abide by the directive of the President," De Lima said.

"I am reviewing the records of the case and have consulted our prosecutors, especially those handling it before the court. The DoJ  will submit its recommendation to the President after making a thorough review of the case. The President expects nothing less than a thorough review," De Lima said in a statement on Sunday.

Trillanes led rebel soldiers that seized the upscale Oakwood Hotel in Makati on July 25, 2003, demanding the ouster of former President Gloria Arroyo. In November 2007, Trillanes again, led the assault of the Peninsula Hotel, also in Makati. Both coup attempts were foiled by the administration.

The DoJ filed a case for coup d'état against Trillanes and 30 other soldiers. Both the prosecution and defense have rested their case before the Regional Trial Court, Branch 148, Makati City. Both parties will submit their respective memoranda within 30 days from receipt of the RTC's July 12, 2010 order.

"I understand that the case will soon be deemed submitted for the court's decision, upon the filing of the required memoranda by both the prosecution and the defense. At this stage, the options for the prosecution may be limited. And the courts have absolute discretion in the disposal of a case once it has acquired jurisdiction over it," said De Lima.

"On the other hand, the President has the absolute prerogative to direct the Secretary of Justice, as an alter ego, to review the case against Trillanes," De Lima added.

"I will, however, exercise care and circumspection under the circumstances, given the independence of the judiciary."

At the time when Mr. Trillanes was charged the prosecutors were exercising utmost prudence not to irritate the regime of Mrs. Arroyo by filing the case although there was no concrete and substantial evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt relevant to the crime charged against him. Mr. Aquino had shown no grudges against Trillanes even the latter supported his closest political opponent. One would think that Trillanes can now avail of the justice he deserved while in a cloud of persecution for having been detained and deprived of his liberty for years.

Honasan: Amnesty will solve Trillanes' coup case

MANILA, Philippines - A veteran of several coup attempts during the first Aquino administration on Monday urged President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III not to interfere in the coup d'etat case against detained Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV.

Instead, Sen. Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan said he will file a bill in the Senate that will grant amnesty to junior officers who participated in the failed 2003 Oakwood Mutiny as well as the takeover of the Manila Peninsula Hotel in 2007.

Honasan said Aquino should not meddle in the Trillanes case since it would be perceived as interfering in a matter best left for the judiciary to decide.

"The courts will have to decide based on the merits of the case without any unnecessary interference from the other branches of government," he said in an interview with Karen Davila on ANC's Headstart on Monday.

The senator, who initiated a military uprising against former President Ferdinand Marcos that culminated in the 1986 EDSA Revolution, believes there was injustice in the case against Trillanes.

He said the basic elements of a coup d'etat were not present in the Oakwood Mutiny since there was no violence or attack nor a takeover of a vital government installation.

Trillanes makes presence felt at 1st Senate hearing

MANILA, Philippines—Just another day for Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV?
Trillanes Tuesday turned up at a Senate inquiry into the exploitation of nursing graduates by local hospitals, took his seat and routinely propounded questions to spokespersons.

The 39-year-old Trillanes breezed through his first official hearing at the Senate after seven years in prison on coup d’etat charges, seemingly without any jitters.
“It’s just another day for me,” he told reporters after excusing himself from the health committee hearing on the hiring of nurses as trainees by hospitals without due compensation.

“Except for the presence of the media, I believe it’s generally similar to the ones we’ve been conducting inside Camp Crame.”

In December, the senator was granted provisional liberty by a court hearing charges against him for his participation in the 2007 siege of the Manila Peninsula hotel in Makati City. He has applied for amnesty which the Aquino government has offered military rebels.

This may be an old news but let me post this:

Trillanes outraged at Ombudsman for Garcia plea bargain

By Ryan Chua, ABS-CBN News
Posted at 01/06/2011 12:08 AM | Updated as of 01/06/2011

MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV slammed the Ombudsman for its decisions absolving people connected with the previous administration of their corruption cases, and vowed to take part in any move to impeach her.

Trillanes cited in particular the Office of the Ombudsman's recent plea bargain deal with retired Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) comptroller Carlos Garcia.

"We express outrage and condemnation sa ginawa ng Ombudsman. Kailangang doon ituon ang galit," he told reporters on Wednesday after submitting his application for amnesty.

Trillanes said Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez deserves to be impeached. "It's not for me to push, but I will do whatever I can to make that happen."

Various officials including President Benigno Aquino III have questioned the decision of state prosecutors to enter into a plea bargain with Garcia, who is accused of amassing P303.27 million in ill-gotten wealth while in active service with the military.

The agreement allowed Garcia to enter guilty pleas for the lesser--and bailable--offenses of direct bribery and violation of Section 4-B of the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) instead of plunder. He walked free last year after posting P60,000 bail.

A document obtained by ABS-CBN News, meanwhile, showed that as early as August 11, 2010, the Sandiganbayan had issued a resolution ordering banks, the Land Transportation Office, the Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association, and other agencies to undertake the transfer to the government of assets enumerated by Garcia in the plea bargaining agreement.

The document showed that Garcia had already executed deeds of conveyances, turning over ownership of his assets in favor of the state.

Trillanes noted that he and members of the Magdalo Group who participated in the 2003 Oakwood Mutiny were jailed by President Arroyo for condemning acts of corruption.

Capt. Gary Alejano, another Oakwood Mutiny leader, said he has no personal grudge against Garcia, who was initially detained at the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines along with the Oakwood mutineers.

“There has to be justice. It's not right that he return to the government only the portion of what you stole and then be free. That is not right,” he said.

After Trillanes dubbed Joker  'laziest senator'

MANILA, Philippines - A word war has erupted between Sen. Joker Arroyo and Sen. Antonio Trillanes over the latter's expenditures.

Arroyo fired the first salvo against Trillanes after the Commission on Audit (COA) revealed that the latter spent P21.136 million in 2009 despite being detained at Camp Crame for rebellion charges.

The expenses made Trillanes the 4th biggest spender in the Senate, behind Sen. Jinggoy Estrada (P21.7 million), Sen. Gregorio Honasan ((P21.6 million) and former senator and now President Benigno Aquino (P21.5 million).

In contrast, Arroyo spent only P14,611,455.95 in 2009, earning him the title of thriftiest senator for the 9th straight year. “I attend sessions regularly, but I didn’t spend that much,” he said in an earlier report.

Just a question. What are these spendings referenced to? Is this spending on how the senators work or is it about spending much on projects?

http://trillanes.com.ph/?page_id=1256

On the above link, this are the projects, and many more not mentioned, accomplished by Sen. Trillanes despite being in jail. Does the great Sen. Arroyo have these information on his projects and public works as well? If he does, can he show it to us?
