I found it!

FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecjia, Philippines (April 14, 2011)— President Aquino said more than P11 billion would be allotted for the purchase of modern equipment for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Speaking at a dialogue with soldiers here yesterday, Aquino said the P11 billion would be used to acquire ships and other watercraft, helicopters for the Air Force, and rifles for the Army.

A Hamilton Class Cutter for the Navy would be coming from the US Coast Guard and that three more were coming soon, he added.

Aquino said long-range helicopters and additional watercraft would be acquired and deployed around Palawan, Sulu Sea and other areas.

“Let me make this clear, what we’re acquiring are quality patrol craft,” he said in Filipino.

“I’m particularly looking at the MPAC – multipurpose attack craft for the Navy. We’ll have more MPAC so that our Navy will have more impact.”

Based dun sa statement ni PNoy, looks like malabo yung F18s na yan kaya balik tayo sa KFir C10s and LIFTs. Remember also that PNoy specifically mentioned that we don't have the budget to acquire 4th generations Fighter jets but we can settle for 3rd Gen MRF..

What is surprising is the inclusion of combat utility helicopters..are they planning some more CUH? Or are they just deceiving the Govt and the public? What's wth Ground attack aircrafts. Baka they are referring to propeller type like the super tuscano or Kt1 turbo props. Why no plans for jets kahit LIFTs. Baka NASA isip nanamn nilang gawin pabaon nag budget na yn. How can u have a modest external defense with turbo props and CUH? Damn generals.

CUH maybe related to the istalled Sokol Utility chopper deal.

Ground attack in not particular.

It could simply be more OV10, more SF260 that were converted into an attack aircraft or it could be the newer planes.

Attach helicopters can also be considered if it meant "ground attack".

Sounds good, whatever this is! :thumb:

After looking at all the news articles since late 2010 till now, below are my best estimates:

2011 - Acquisition worth 11 billion pesos :
NAVY - 3 navy patrol helicopters with sensors(could be anti-submarine and/or anti-shipping). I believe this will be the choppers to be deployed onboard the navy Hamilton cutters
3 fixed wing aircraft(e.g. I believe this will be small propeller aircraft with radar, e.g. BN2 -Islander)
3 MPACs(small patrol boats)
4 Hamilton cutters(1 or 2 this year and the other 2 in 2012 or 2013 but the money will come from the 11 billion in 2011)
1 LCU
AIR FORCE - 1 long long range maritime patrol aircraft for the air force(e.g. CASA 212. I think this will be a bigger maritime patrol aircraft because it mentions the word "long range")
2 SAR helicopters for the air force

The reason they are prioritising the navy's air wing is that they have not been replaced since the 1970s and they are needed for patrolling, and secondly, in the first CUP(202006-2010, the air force was prioritized with their C-130s, Hueys , utility helicopters, Broncos, MD520 upgrades)

2012 to 2016 - 40 to 42 billion billion acquisitions
Air Force will get 14 billion - 6 attack helicopters(e.g. Cobra) and 4 LIFT(this is the one that has been modified I believe to become the 2-3 F18s)
Air Defense radars(anti-aircraft radars also mentioned) - this might be mobile radars ,e.g. HAWK missile radars
Army -110 units of M-113 armored vehicles(upgraded with better armor and unknown gun), more anti-tank weapons( my rough estimate is around 1,000 rocket launchers)
Navy will get 14 billion or more - Most or all of the following will be acquired: 2 OPVs, 2 multi-purpose helicopters, more anti-tank weapons( rough estimate is around 100) , 3 MRVs, 4 WHEC Cutters, 2-4 Perry Class frigates, 1 destroyer

the Coast Guard is also looking to buy WHEC cutters either 2nd-hand or brand-new. Regarding the 8 cutters mentioned by Ambassador Cuisia, my guess is the navy will get 4 WHECs while the PCG will get the other 4 WHECs

That reason is appalling, how can they say that when we don't have even an AIR DEFENCE WING SQUADRONS right now and has never been replaced by proper ones... We don't have the ability to face our threats right now....!

Let' see what are they going to do starting JULY when "SHI LANG" Carrier comes out.... :dunno:

The Philippines should also invest more on ANTI-AIR DEFENCE WEAPONS as well! Since the Chicoms have a lot of air power...

the budget for the F-18s/LIfts will come from the 40 billion in 2012 -2016 which jives wth MrZ'z post where he said 2013.. hindi kasya ang 11 billion sa 2011, we need to prioritize for 2011 the naval part because they will physically eyeball/board andseizure/patrol the OPFOR on the seas

The ship was hit by 2 Iraqi Exocets but only one detonated. Luckily, the Exocet detonation was not enough to sink the frigate.

Amazing!

the Perry class frigates might be one of the few or if not, the only ship class whose 76mm gun is amidships(gitna) instead of at the bow(front) of the ship !!!

GRABE. SOBRANG SAMA NUNG MGA NAGNAKAW. KAYA TAU NGAUN MINAMALIIT PAGDATING SA ARMFORCES EH DAHIL DUN. DI NA NAKONSENYA. KALIGTASAN NG BANSA NATIN TULOY ANG SANA PELIGRO.
