PMA medical exam; vision requirements

But this of course is not being observed if you are the child of an influencial person. This I am speaking out of experience, because I had a high school batchmate from Claret school who in all attributes should have been physically disqualified for the medical exam and was still admitted only because his father is a Commodore in the PN. I don't know if the SOB ever graduated, but then again I could care less. It was THEIR LOSS NOT MINE because when I took the test for PMMA that year I was no.6 out of the lot (and did not study)! For all the rest of us who were told to have failed the PMA entrance exam then, all had the same score...one point away from passing. Thank God na rin it did not transpire.

When is PMMA's entrance exam and how strict is PMMA in its medical exams? BTW, if ever I push through, I plan to join the marines. Thank you! :aberet:

Thank you! :aberet: Sorry Ian, that also did not happen and is a long story why. From what my days were when I took the exam for PMMA, they are just as strict. The reason why I did not enroll in PMMA was because at 18 years of age my parents separated at the time and I had to take care of my mother (to which I still am doing so at present). I did a lot of odd jobs for us to subsist from carpenter helper, house boy to nag-ma-mason and finally got a break doing stunts with foreign films that were popular back then in the late 80's. Like you, if natuloy lang ako, I would've joined the PMC after graduation. Good Luck Man and I hope you make your dreams come true :thumb:

Thanks. hi Ian, the academy is very strict regarding medical and physical exams for (new) cadets... 20-20 vision is required... thus many who passed the entrance exam failed to enter the academy... try to consult a doctor.. maybe it can help... good luck

On the very 1st night of my Medical Exam at V. Luna it became a sign that I will not make it. I was also near sighted with a 100/100 grade The first night is the vision test, reading the vision level (letters and numbers) then after a day will be the trip to the Opthalmology Dept. of V. Luna even if you don't tell them your vision problems is already documented. :thumb:

True! I did not pass the PMA Medical Exam in 1998 for the PMA NCBO 2003 but I was surprised to get a letter from the PMA that I passed only to find out later when I resigned that my relatives in the AFP recommended me in the PMA - ouch!! I came to Baguio unprepared which lead to my resignation during my 1st month as a plebo.

Recruit Posts: 1 Group: Recruits Member #8,181 Joined: March 23, 2013	I just want to share guys. I took the exam and passed the entrance exam twice, last year and this year. I almost made it last year specifically class 2016 but i wasn't able to comply my medical deficiency. Now Im currently waiting for results but i think i failed again because i havent yet received a letter.
