I only pray that these ambitions will come through in their comparissons and responses when the time comes? Thank God at times there are still dreamers around.

25 years from now we will still be a 3rd world country status thus acquiring ships with aegis system is not very realistic. and if corruption will still be rampant, i will see our navy operating wooden ships or steamboats in 25 years. |

Everybody is hoping for a Better and Modernize Navy in the future. I believe it will happen PROVIDED PN High Officials are UNITED IN THINKING ALL THE POSSIBILITIES TO BECOME MODERNIZE and acquire assets needed in order to fulfill their(PN) duty and Mission. PN current state is so poor because nobody dare to make the first step in changes and progress. They put boundaries in their thinking, that Modernization is too big for them failing too realize we are loosing more than what we need to invest to guard our safety and economy. cheers

Stop dreaming we will never have any of those ships. Just wish we will be able to acquire some patrol crafts, gunboats and LSTs ( civillian ships converted to navy support ships) |

i may agree on this... with the current state of our policy in modernizing our AFP and a small budget, the PN in 25 years might only purchase fast patrol crafts, fast patrol boats, several OPVs, and some modern LSVs/LSTs (with some converted from civilian vessels). this might well replace those old WWII vessels in our PN, leaving only the 3 peacock class OPVs, some PKMs, and 2 frank besson class LSVs. and also, PN might only invest on the upgrading of weapons, sensors, propulsion, and the likes on the existing and future purchase of PN vessels. my comments only (but who knows...) |

problem here if somebody takes a first step and the others would not follow it's a useless venture. I can't blame kung maging corrupt ang isang officer dahil corrupt naman lahat. but if he can instill to himself the value he uphold as a PMA grad. Mas ok kaso in the surreal world that is existing in the Philippines. GOODLUCK!!! |

i may agree, but how's about the marines? how do they do it? look at what our marines are doing now?? with a very small and meager budget, they are still doing wonders by upgrading (albeit modestly) their equipment... and still they have (some) corrupt officers and marine personnel... i don't know how they do it, but they are doing it just to prove that they are capable of upgrading their weapons and equipment... i don't know... i think the navy should learn from the marines, i think... and they should... |
