assuming that the AFP Modernization Plan goes into full swing, i see the Philippine Navy to comprised of the following:

- three diesel-electric submarines based on either the Type 214, Agosta 90B class or the Scorpene class

- three midget submarines for special operations

- four guided-missile frigates based on either the MEKO A-200 class or the Formidable class

- eight guided-missile corvettes based on either the MEKO A-100 or the Gowind 170

- 12 offshore patrol vessels, comprised of three Jacinto class OPVs, three modified Jacinto class OPVs and six helicopter-equipped OPVs based on the MEKO A-100 or the Tenix 80-meter OPV

- 12 to 18 missile boats based on the Super Vita class or the Hamina class

- 12 to 18 PKM class patrol boats

- 40 to 50 CB90Hs or similar designs

- six mine countermeasures vessels based on either the Huon class or the Landsort class

- six Endurance class LSTs

- two Besson class LSVs

- a huge fleet of LCUs, LCMs and hovercrafts

- two Etna class fleet support vessels

- three fleet support tenders

- one Hospital ship

- a naval air fleet comprised of 18 to 20 AS-565MB Panther helicopters and 18 to 20 modernized Bo.105s (aircraft being flown by the PAF on PN's behalf)

- a maritime patrol fleet comprised of six CN-235MPAs and six C-212 Patrulleros (aircraft being flown by the PAF on PN's behalf)

- modern land-based naval defense radars and anti-ship missile missiles (Brahmos?)

- the BRP Rajah Humabon will be turned into the main museum ship of the Philippine Navy, along with one Auk class corvette and one World War II-era LST.

- one Auk class corvette will be converted into a training ship

again... NO AIRCRAFT CARRIER for the Philippine Navy. those Endurance class LSTs will be enough.

An aircraft carrier is impossible, most likely an aircraft carrier own and operated by ASEAN . Maybe 25 years from now, ASEAN would be more like the EU, with similar foreign policy.

I'll first hope that I am still alive to see that day (25 years from now) where such ambitions regarding your respective wish lists will become true. Sana mangyari for a change :thumb:

p.s. When that time comes and those among you here will become the future Officers and Crew; I hope you will be kind enough to show my family and me around your vessels during an open house on base.

With all the naval military hardware and the dream list in the Army forum, we may have most formidable armed forces in the SEA region, baka matakot na mga neighbors natin with all those build-up, of course assuming that we can have it all. :snipemo:

With all due respect, I know I am a hard ass, but this is me. My real ambition in life was to serve in the AFP even when I knew it was not a super power. One reason being is obvious, despite what or who or whatever may prevail in their line of reasoning or events, this is always going to be "Ang lupa na sinilangan ko".

All of my relatives from my father's side live and have migrated to the States and are all US citizens, but it is only myself the Filipino citizen to this very day that has and is the only one who serves in the US Armed Forces and definitely has no intention of becoming an American. Sila na lang at wa ako matusi (from City Hunter's motto).

Dramatic anoh? I could care less what someone's perception of what I think is best in life because I do prevail in that arena and way above beyond my efforts. My proof is not what rank my present profession has awarded me, but what I provide to my family and all those that I have come in contact with, but of course within my simple means.

Sad to say, life's events circumvented me else where, which is why I winded up in the USN. I am glad I can afford to spoil my family to the utmost extent I can muster, but the one thing though that keeps prevailing in me is an emptiness inside because (not crying out of spilled milk) this is not the profession I wanted to do. The hardest thing that has been going on for me is to wake up every day and do a job I utterly hate to the point of no end. That's why I cannot wait to call it quits.

What these Posters are doing here now may be dreams, and I do hate dreamers only when they cannot deliver. Especially when they continue on too much! But in this topic, let them carry on despite no matter how far fetch it may seem. Now if you think they are getting out of step, then go ahead and make your point, but be tactical when you correct them. Don't insult them. Remember that once upon a time, the so called super powers of today had to start from scratch.

And these dreamers per say, only want a greater country where you come from. Now is that so bad? Now if you think the present state of the PN is so bad, can you only imagine what it must be like for those Sailors we have serving right now, while you are comfortably viewing this?

Dreamers please be aware that I will indeed slam you (tactically and hard) if you really are getting out of step. So please keep in step and thank God Almighty that it is not only me hoping for a better tomorrow for this land of ours (Just try and make it happen for a change). :ssalute: Keep Charging!

i know of their plight, maniegom...and i also know that most of them serve under some men who went to the PMA and act as gods aboard ship...and even on dry land...officers nga pero definitely not gentlemen...tama ba yung sampalin mo ang isang enlisted man hanggang sa nabingi na sa isang tenga?...tama ba yung ikaw ang CO, your ship ran aground, tapos lahat hinigan mo ng pera para ipa-repair yung nasirang parte ng barko?...tama ba yung pinagbabawal mong mahigpit yung magdala ng babae aboard ship pero ikaw tatlong magkakasunod ang bitbit mo araw-araw ng tatlong buwan? :headbang:

To Maniegom:

Just a question. I saw on CNN, many israeli soldiers fighting in Lebanon are american citizens. Is this allowed under the US law?
