The PAF's fleet of UH-1 Huey helicopters may be old but last night, Discovery Channel declared the Huey as the Greatest Helicopter Ever, ranking number 1 in a field of 10.

2nd place is the Robinson R22 while surprise, surprise, the Apache Longbow ranked 3rd.

I remember watching part of that episode you're talking about from Discovery. I think the Chinook scored Number 8 while the Bell Ranger got Number Seven.

Can't remember the other ones though.

Helicopters

Helicopters are true all-rounders. They are used to rescue people from the most unusual situations; from mountains and deep ravines and even from the middle of the ocean. They transport soldiers and heavy equipment into the jungle or on to tiny islands. Helicopters can land in places that are otherwise completely inaccessible. The fact that they are extremely well suited to combat and can be controlled precisely make them an impressive asset in warfare. Their maneuverability is unique, their flexibility without parallel. Our experts have gathered together the crème de la crème of the skies for The Greatest Ever…Helicopters. But which chopper is your personal favorite?

Hmmm...I don't see the Robinson R22 on that list, on TV it was clearly stated that the R22 is the second placer and it was definitely the Mi-26 Halo, not the Mi-24.

I think the list was made based on technical capabilities. 2 episodes yan eh. yung show na nag top ang UH-1H yun yung episode na kino consider nila yung feelings ng mga piloto.
you will never make me sing "internationale"
