Guys do we have Naval infantry? Here in Cebu City, I saw some PN personnel in camouflage uniforms patrolling the port area armed with M16A1s, I thought they were Marines first because the camo pattern is similar, but when I looked closer the service patch says "NAVY".

I believe they are not NAVSOG either because theyre not wearing the tiger stripes.

thats good, more foot soldiers to fight the insurgents and terrorists, we can put those increasingly 'beached' seamen to good use as infantrymen :rifle:

Might be on security detail since ports are considered vital installations. Part of the Philippine Navy Coast Watch Stations initiative.

Are you sure those are not SEABEES? Did you happen to see any bulldozers colored blue or with a camouflage paint scheme nearby?

definitely not seabees, I saw them again yesterday at the port area, this time patrolling with two coast guards men wearing their funny cammies (I don't know why the PCG chose that color and pattern) and also similarly armed. The PN people also has automatic pistols worn in commando-type thigh holsters.

There you are, patrolling. Assisting the PCG. With the President declaring war on the commies its an augmentation force for security of the port is necessary. BTW, where's the next ASEAN summit, is it to be held there?

ya dito sa amin pala ang ASEAN summit, our local cops are getting a good number of new weapons and vehicles for their security operations, yes I think those Navymen are part of the security operations.
