My best guess is that these guys are members of the French Army. They are using their standard assault rifle, FAMAS. FAMAS stands for Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de St-Etienne (Assault Rifle by St-Etienne Arms Factory). As a NATO member country, they are also using the FN M249 SAW which is the standard squad weapon of the US ground forces. :fire:

hmmm...if I'm not mistaken, those are not just french but a mix of NATO troops..see the NRF patch? it stands for NATO Response Force, and note the AK-derivative gun carried by the topmost soldier who is probably from a former Warsaw Bloc country that's now a NATO member.
Anyone who comes to a counter-insurgency thinking it`s about killing terrorists is missing the boat. It`s really about winning the people. You can kill all the terrorists but then you`ve pissed people off and created 100 more.

I'm not talking about the sniper rifle, I was referring to the AK (or a variant) carried by the soldier above the soldier with the blue rifle grenade simunition.
