made in taiwan, if I am not mistaken...
You may have superior weaponry, but you're out of ammo, and I've still got plenty of rocks.

How true that banana-type magazines are prone to jamming?

Not really, it all depends on the quality of the spring mostly, even a straight clip can make a rifle jam if the spring is too weak to push the round properly.

The funny looking "ballistic helmets" and the soldiers with bullet -proof vests are part of the 3100 pairs of "Force Protection Equipment" recently delivered to the AFP. The vest have a "pocket" in the front and back torso where ceramic plates are inserted. Level of protection of the plates -resistant to 7.62mm ball ammo. The troops are also wearing a new design of "combat rig" recently introduced to the AFP. The event[Camp Aguinaldo] in the picture is the send-off[redeployed from Mindanao] of 1500 troops to Central Luzon with president Arroyo as guest of honor.

These new vests are different from the armor vest[distributed by a makati based firm] in use with the UN contingent of the AFP and the LABde. It is also not the same as the ones in use with the Philippine Marines that has attachments similar the the MOLLE system.

Yes, they look better than the unauthentic special forces get-up of Mark Dacascos of "The Hunt for Eagle One". -Binili yata sa Bayani road ang uniporme, combat rig at pati na yung red-dot sight ng team niya - BADUY at EPAL!

those helmets will look good when its wrapped in the same camo cloth and I believe the Army people will do that, if they had not done it already.
