PNP launches caravan for cops affected by 'Yolanda' ABS-CBNnews.com Posted at 11/29/2013 10:50 AM | Updated as of 11/29/2013 12:24 PM MANILA - The Philippine National Police has launched the PNP humanitarian caravan to help cops affected by super typhoon "Yolanda" in Eastern Visayas. The caravan also aims to recognize the heroism of policemen who helped survivors in the aftermath of the typhoon. PNP spokesperson Senior Superintendent Theodore Reuben Sindac said the caravan will converge in Tacloban City to bring assistance to fellow police officers. "Kahit sila ay nasalanta ay inuna ang kababayan nila pero ngayon sila ang aming pagbibigyan ng pansin," he said. Meanwhile, the PNP confirmed 6 cops died in Region 8 at the height of the killer storm. Sindac said out of the 6,000 cops in Region 8, only four are still unaccounted for. He said they are not considered missing for now as they may still turn up at the regional office or in Camp Crame as other survivors have done. "Marami sa kanila nagduty and marami pa naman sa kanila ang pinapadaan sa stress de-briefing at sinisikap namin sukatin kung kaya pa http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/11/29/13/caravan-cops-affected-super-typhoon |
