... but as per schedule of the AFP-PAF to have MRFs is on the year 2017 (i think); if we have any fighters at all, then for me AFP should install mobile SAMs/AA platformsfor protection of not only radars but the airbase itself (i wonder why the PAF would buy MRFs in 2017? i wonder why... we also need fighters, not just radars...)..

The PAF's procurement plans gave allowance to give time for the COIN/CT threats to recede, the government to stabilize and for the economy to improve or at least FOREX reserves to grow.

I suggest we upgrade the radar in Ilocos Norte into a joint-use facility. NEDA may help us a lot by labelling this undertaking as economically beneficial.

If we want NEDA to get in to this undertakings one of the possible donor for financial aid is the Japanese Government thru JICA. Most of the NEDA's project has tied up or financed by the Japanese Government.

Not a bad idea also. Since Japan has a good electronic products.

not a bad idea sir jammerjamesky, actually JICA is also supporting or helping not just NEDA but also many private sectors as well, mostly electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industries (technically and monetarily). our company alone is being supported by JICA for more than 15 years now...

... just think, we will build and produce parts and equipment for our radar units (civilian and military) with the support of JICA thru NEDA or directly thru JICA itself. we have one production division in our company (may i not mention the name of the company i'm working, for security reasons) that manufactures radar parts for the US military. we have the capability here in the philippines, we only need the support of the gov't and private sector to help our military lalo na sa nangyayari sa mga equipment ng AFP now...

... when will they see this opportunity??

how can a modern air force survive the greatest weapon any enemy can bring to bear: the element of surprise, aka the pre-emptive strike re the Six-Day War, the Nazi destruction of the air arm of the Red Army prior to the invasion of Stalin’s USSR, and Desert Storm.

A good Anti Aircraft System is needed to protect whatever High Value asset that is inside the base from Air Strike.

Besides having A fix Ground radar installation to Air Base,
the radar of Anti -Aircraft that will be employ to protect any air Base will intesify the monitoring capabilites of our airspace. Peace to all.

The Generals' Golf Courses in the air bases. By the way, did you notice that new buildings have been built in many military bases? But for what purpose? Sayang lang ang mga ito, like the Airpower Intitute at Fernando Air Base. :fire:

Need to protect of course are run-ways, control centers, housing areas, etc. Protection from sabotage and destruction of remaining assets.

There were rebel strikes that resulted to loss of A/Cs both from the left and rightists groups.

We need those housing facilities inside the base. But it should be used exclusively by the officers not the "RETIRED OFFICERS".

Thats the current situation of our bases transcient housing facilities. This retired officers should turn it over to the proper authority after serving the AFP.

Navy Quarters in Fort Bonifacio for example has still a big problem in terms accomodation. Laki ng utang ng PN dahil sa mga huklubang officers na ayaw umalis sa mga quarters na occupied nila.at take note water and electrical bills shoulder pa rin ng PN up to now.
