Those are not the current revetments at Clark. That appears to be Viet Nam era. Note the sign "Wolf pack". If I am not mistaken, the wolf pack is the fighter unit at Kunsan Airbase in Korea with the tail flash of WP. These jets have FP so at one point perhaps that unit was based someplace other than Korea. I am not that old so maybe one of our senior folks will remember.

The last fighter unit(s) based in the Philippines was the 3rd TFW. The actual squadrons were the 3rd TFS and the 90th TFS. F-4E and F-4G aircraft with tail flashes of PN.

The us air force guys were building single aircraft revetments towards the end of their stay. These protective barriers were on each of the individual hard stands. I don't ever recall seeing anything like the above photo in the past 30 years on Clark. The clark revetments were 3 sided. I believe they had started building roofs on some of them using metal/tin. I dont think any of the covers survived pinatubo.

I do remember seeing multiplace revetments like these in the above photo in Korea and in Thailand.

"At Ubon, the 8th TFW carried out its wartime mission as it led the way for other tactical Air Force fighter units during the Vietnam War. Initial F-4D operational sqauadrons were:433d Tactical Fighter Squadron (December 1965 – July 1974) (Tail Code: FG)
497th Tactical Fighter Squadron (December 1965 – September 1974) (Tail Code: FP)
"

FN Tail Flash and Wolf Pack

If I was conducting checks on avionics I would not do it in this area. The metal would affect the compass/nav systems and the revetments might also prevent the missile detection systems from accurately picking up test signals.

You could be right Tsukiyomi, but i called my dad and he said the Wolfpack was temporarily assigned to clark in 1972. i went thru wikipedia and found this
Quote:

After North Vietnam invaded the Republic of Vietnam in March 1972, the 8 TFW was augmented by additional Temporary Duty (TDY) F-4E units. These were:

    334th Tactical Fighter Squadron
(April 1972 – July 1972) (Tail Code: SA)
(September 1972 – March 1973) (Tail Code: SJ) (TDY from 4th TFW, Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina)
    335th Tactical Fighter Squadron
(August 1972 – December 1972) (Tail Code: SJ) (TDY from 4th TFW, Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina)
    308th Tactical Fighter Squadron
(December 1972 – January 1973) (Tail Code: ZF) (TDY from 31st TFW, Homestead AFB, Florida)
    58th Tactical Fighter Squadron
(June 1973 – September 1973) (Tail Code: ED) (TDY from 33d TFW, Eglin AFB, Florida)

To make room for these forces, the 13th Bomb Squadron was reassigned to the 405th Fighter Wing at Clark AB, Philippines in December 1972.

the actual units assigned i cant say cause i'm still kid back then.
heres the wiki link.
