We really need to modernize the Navy, pronto! It would only take one of the Chinese Sorenemmy, Luhu or Luda Class destroyers, a few Hai Nan Class FPBs plus a flight of J-7s in support to wipe all those PN ships out. |

If those ships are armed with missiles.? hmmm... maybe but it cannot deter chinese agreession in the KIG. But that will be different if its backup JAS 39 and F-18's... of our Air Force

IF ALL OUR NAVAL ASSETS HAVE MISSILES, would encroaching on spratley prevented? DEFINITELY! We dont need to match the Chinese in numbers. All we need to do is show them that we are guarding our territories strong enough. They've stolen the Mischief Reef because they knew it was NOT GUARDED. Had the Navy fielded patrol ships there, the Chinese would not have dared to occupy it. Remember that the Navy NSOG demolished the markers, put up by the Chinese military around that reef, when the invasion heated up. Only the Octagon structure or that fisherman's shelter kuno! was spared. Unfortunately, Ramos underestimated China's stubbornness when he opted to resolve it through diplomatic means instead. It might not have happened that way if it was Marcos or Erap manning the top post then. Ramos was too scared to take risk, unlike Marcos and Erap. We could have retaken Mischief Reef if Erap or Marcos happened to be the president then. Our lawmakers were to blame here also. They dont know the importance of external defense. That's the risk of not guarding your territory well enough. We should really give the Navy more capability to guard our territories. :thumb: |

Great idea. If ships that small can be armed with that then our bigger crafts or ships can be armed with this as well. There are also choppers armed with this. The Navy's BO105 may be armed with this. :thumb: |

and lets put anti ship missles to to our islanders as well...i think if the chinese wil attack us it will be small skirmishes they will not risk an all out war..so arming our ships with missiles are a good choice. |
