The installation of Radar stations should be funded mainly by the DOTC, because it can be used not only for the military but also for civilian purposes (Air traffic control).

When are they gonna start the installation?

2Q of 2012 upto 3Q of 2013. No final yet. Specs have been defined. RFI's have been requested from possible suppliers. Several offers are potentials and meets necessary requirements. Cost offer is only the issue.

The Air-Force?

Does the PAF even have launching platforms for such "precision-guided weapons"? Apart from the OV-10s and choppers, what has the PAF? Or is there something more to this deal?

Sir Vermonter,

Do you have a source for that news?
Is it for their favourite "COIN" play operations or part of External Defence plans?

South Korean KT-1's maybe with service ceiling of up to 38,000 ft. more safer against hostile ships than OV-10s. But if ever, the problem is what will we use to cover them against SU-27s covering these hostile ships? :dunno:
