it's because Brunei's Air Force does not operate fighters. however, Brunei is on the way of considering Hawk 200s for its air force. sooner or later, they too will have a "credible" air force. ;)

the airforce of Brunei consists mostly of helos bec if they have jet fighters the basing and runways needed would take up a lot of their precious land area

Okay lang kahit wala na tayong fighters, we have more generals naman. :D PAF's Air Defense Command has 3 generals and virtually zero fighters.

The truth is, if you fly boys(if there's one around)would be serious enough. I think you better have a good and honest procurement of spare parts... Buy the spares on the right prices... from the right people...

The money you spend on your spares are actually the same costs(almost) of buying airwothy aircraft in the market today. PAF spend so much on spares and unfortunately buying they do not actually need or currently in their shelf rotting.

PAF are using trainer aircraft for combat? SF260? Retrofitted by machine guns? Has anyone of you out there considered the strenght of materials? Good luck!

OV-10 in the US are now used by Aviation Enthusiasts... Well, simply for recreations now a days... Forget your F-5's... It's no longer economical to maintain... I bet their structural integrity will no longer pass... Have these airplanes undergone X-Ray lately?

BUY NEW AIRCRAFTS..... BUY NEW AIRCRAFTS....not spares. fight corruption and I think all of the 248 reserved Pilots will fly... Such a waste of tax payers money spending on pilot training to set down their ass... These are good pilots but some of them may never fly again.

How about the F5s we received from Taiwan, or was it South Korea?

Aren't they operational too?

From South Korea, yes. Those are the handful that are still barely flight capable. As far as I know, the Taiwanese F-5 deal did not push through because.. you know why.

Or if it did, it'd prolly be super low-key... *shrug*

Didn't you guys supposedly swapped that restored P51 for a couple of F5s from Taiwan? I am a civilian but I saw the F5s in the hangar at Fighter town. I guess we can't afford for anyone to see the tail numbers...

Maybe someone should ask the brass to fund a special study and look into the feasibility of strapping rocket packs on to the backs of some of these valiant generals along with some ground support hardware. Then they can show how the air force really goes about its business. :lollol:

Of course these boys will keep on flying. But they will have to do it for PAL, Air Phil, Cebu Pacific. Why even the OV10 jocks can probably transition to the LET 410s that SEAair is flying. And then tehre are still the likes of Pepito Alvarez and his Lear Jets for anyone who feels like taking on air taxi duty. But for this assignment they will have to deal with an old Navy hand, Commodor Gil Fernandez who is running the show for Don Pepito.

Only two options going for PAF. Either procure spanking new MRF (the Gripen is my personal choice) and if this is not financially possible, get it any available F-5 and upgrade each to Swiss standards minimal.
