You may have superior weaponry, but you're out of ammo, and I've still got plenty of rocks.

if we have no more fighters that fly then what are we using for bombing the rebels in their camps? Our army troops are no longer supported by our airforce?

oh don't worry kid, we manage even without CAs from the airforce ;)

seventeener: the Philippine Air Force is using OV-10 Bronco fixed-wing light attack aircrafts and MG520 Defender attack helicopters in counter-insurgency and close air support operations. unless you plan to do precision strikes, it is a big NO NO to use fighters such as F-5s in ground attack missions.

here's a picture of an OV-10 Bronco:

here's a picture of an MD500 helicopter, which is similar to the MG520 attack helicopter of the Philippine Air Force:

peace! ;)

@israeli

The US Marines are still using Broncos as FACs to this date?

One little two little three little four little...

Not anymore. The USMC Broncos were replaced by the AV-8 Harrier IIs.

The SAF is an armed force , not a civilian corporation. Its mission is to defeat its enemies, ruthlessly and completely. Its an instrument of controlled fury, designed to visit death and destruction of its foes...soldiers must have steel in their souls ..must learn in war to kill and not to flinch, to destroy and not to feel pity, to be a flaming sword in the righteous cause of national survival.

Indeed, my mistake. USMC OV-10s were retired with no replacements. I guess, they now rely on UAVs for FA and recon duties.

Exactly. Just recently the USMC commissioned Boeing to provide 2 mobile deployment units for the ScanEagle UAV for use in Iraq.

f.y.i.: Vietnam already has 12 Su-27 Flankers in its Air Force. only the Philippines and the likes of Laos and Cambodia and the small state of Brunei are the countries that "lack" a credible air force.

peace. ;)
