I think the PAF might have a problem right in the reactivation of the F-5. They will again go to the JUSMAG to allow them to activate the planes. It might take them much time to activate that. Im not against in the reactivation but right now im not sure if they are willing to do that. Sincerity to the acquistion of th new stuff is far from reality.

Do you agree to me guys that "Its time to look back the Modernization Law of the AFP and revisit its time frame of acquisition and adjust the $1 - P25 currency rate of the budget acquistion in the modernization". Its been the problem of the AFP. If i can recall it was frame when the dollar rate at that time was $1- P25 so its easy for us if it is the currency rate but now its ther way around. Twice the old rate already.

jammerjamesky: nice point. :thumb:

when the AFP Modernization Act was enacted in the mid-1990's, the Peso-Dollar exchange rate was still at P26.00 to US$1.00. maybe an amendment to the law would ease the AFP's problems as to acquisition of foreign-made weapons and equipments although i would rather want to encourage the local license-building of the said weapons and equipment or the development of indigenously-designed weapons and equipment to answer the AFP's re-equipment needs.

hmmmm... reactivation of the F-5A/Bs? should we now suspect that the PAF F-5A/Bs are not really retired but was only placed on "ready reserve" status? :wow:

:agree: israeli

To obtain a good modernization time frame aquisition and funding we must revisit the AFP modernization Law. On this manner we can adjust the currency rate on the law and also increase the budget proposal for the needed equipments to be purchased. This will allow also local Builders and our AFP to came something a good purchased price on the equipments that will benefit both of them. Creating a harmonous relationship with the private sector will also give a beef up in the AFP.

F - 5 A/B in reserve ? Am id rather ask my sources in Villamor. I have nothing to say.

If the PAF will activate the F-5s lets just buy the ones form S.Korea atleast model E na ito with radar and mas modern than our old birds, not to mention mas safe pa.

Puwede pang stop-gap fighter till the MRFs arrive.

Well, I prefer yung AT50 ng S.Korea, if possible Kfir [pero unlikely kasi spineless GRP]

If the brass wants to activate the F-5s and if in case they dont want to buy other aircraft. The model E ng S.Korea will be a better option than reactivating ours, kasi they can manuver more than ours since aged na airframe nila. Sa S.Korea mas well maintained.

IF YOU WILL COMPARE THE S211 FROM THE S.KOREAN F5Es E DUON NAKO SA F5Es KAHIT MAY SIDEWINDERS PA ANG S211s. S211 IS NOT SUITABLE FOR AIRDEFENSE (THE PAF BOUGHT THEIR S211 FOR TRAINING AND GROUND ATTACK OPERATIONS LANG).

PLEASE BE ENLIGHTEN...
