Mga bro, does anyone of you here know the latest status of our F5s?

One little two little three little four little...

And behind every unsuccessful man, there are two.

Isnayper is right. Almost all of it are in storage in Clark, with less than handful (1 hand, actually) that is barely flight capable deployed all over the Phils.
You may have superior weaponry, but you're out of ammo, and I've still got plenty of rocks.

How about the F5s we received from Taiwan, or was it South Korea?

Aren't they operational too?

From South Korea, yes. Those are the handful that are still barely flight capable. As far as I know, the Taiwanese F-5 deal did not push through because.. you know why.

Or if it did, it'd prolly be super low-key... *shrug*

if we have no more fighters that fly then what are we using for bombing the rebels in their camps? Our army troops are no longer supported by our airforce?

seventeener: the Philippine Air Force is using OV-10 Bronco fixed-wing light attack aircrafts and MG520 Defender attack helicopters in counter-insurgency and close air support operations. unless you plan to do precision strikes, it is a big NO NO to use fighters such as F-5s in ground attack missions.

here's a picture of an OV-10 Bronco:

here's a picture of an MD500 helicopter, which is similar to the MG520 attack helicopter of the Philippine Air Force:

Tumpak, Stoner! We need $$$. I think we still have F5 airframes that could be brought back to flight status, if we have the $$$. Those F-5A/Bs we have can still be upgraded with advanced avionics, stronger airframes, HUDs and MFDs. Just follow what the US did with the upgrade program for their T-38 trainers, turning them to advanced LIFT platforms. The T-38 is the predecessor of the F-5A/B so, in theory, the T-38 upgrade program can be retro-fitted to the F-5A/B.
