This modus operandi can only be achieved through connivance from the government department where vehicles are registered with full protection from crooked law enforcers.

A vehicle with so many discripancies on their body and engine details should have been detected while undergoing inspection prior to its registration.

MANILA, Philippines – Five carjacking suspects were killed in a hot pursuit operation along Congressional Avenue in Quezon City on Wednesday morning.

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Samuel Pagdilao said the suspects belong to the notorious Lintag group, which was responsible for the series of car theft and robbery incidents in Metro Manila and parts of central Luzon.

Pagdilao said the suspects were aboard two vehicles, a black Toyota Fortuner and a bronze Toyota Innova, when they rushed past a police checkpoint along Congressional Avenue, prompting authorities to conduct a hot pursuit operation.

He said the members of the CIDG and Quezon City police had an exchange of fire with the suspects at around 4 a.m. All the five suspects died on the spot.

MANILA, Philippines – Two suspected carjackers were killed in a shootout in Makati City on Wednesday morning, a police official said.

Makati City police chief Col. Jaime Santos said members of the National Capital Region Police Office - Regional Police Intelligence Operation Unit (NCRPO-RPIOU) killed one of the suspected carjackers at the corner of Buendia Avenue and Urban Avenue around 4 a.m. The other, who took flight, was later killed at a nearby creek.

According to Santos, authorities have long been monitoring the movement of the suspects. They were supposedly inside a Ford Escape (ZBX 640) at a parking lot behind People Support building since yesterday.
