why blame the educational system? pma cadets come from the top ranks of their respective schools

Our gov't has admitted that there's something wrong. Just on books, if not for concern of certain groups our school children will be using low quality materials.

Cadets that top ranks in their respective schools may not be comparable to some average students of our best schools. And in some other threads, it was discussed that top students from tops schools don't end up at PMA. They tend to enroll in other courses.

And before entering PMA, you had grade school, elementary and high school education to tackle Basic English. :dunno:

ok then, if that tedaks forum of theirs is the official forum, then the pma superintendent should make it a rule that only posts in correct english should be accepted - no more taglish and silly slangs like kadeyt or gradweyt, if they allow posts like that by cadets which esentially are still students, then that type of writing is what they will carry over when they graduate and become officers in the afp.

And require them also to visit PDFF. Make them read how the pros post in a military forum. :armywink:

Those snotty kids now say 'Wazzup' like hip hoppers? :armyeek:

I just can't imagine Gringo, Lacson and other grizzled ayers say 'wazzup' during their time.

Punishment suggestion: Lock up any cadet who say wazzup and let him listen to Eddie Peregrina and Victor Wood songs for 24 hours. That will surely teach him to say what's up correctly.

Now that would constitute capital punishment bro, more painful than hazing. Those kids grew up on US pop, rock and hip hop music hence their current unintelligible language.

But Pendejo is right (and attention PMA cadets: Pendejo can write! He should be your model), English is the only global language of great significance, even China's stern and staid PLA generals are taking crash courses in English. But let us not blame the kids here, let's blame the culture that allowed them to become what they are now and an educational system split between Filipino and English mode of instructions. Let's do away with Araling Panlipunan, revert to Social Studies! The only subject taught in Filipino should be Filipino. March commands should revert to English - no more of that Pasulong and Tikas s@#t.

I also agree with Ctrlaltdel, the PMA Superintendent himself should order the cadets to write correct English everytime they post.

Imagine what could happen if a current cadet becomes a general in the future, retires and is appointed ambassador to the United States and on his presentation of credentials, goes right up to the POTUS, claps him on the back and says -"Yo dude, am the new Philippine ambassador, wazzup - feelin woozy?"

Anyone who comes to a counter-insurgency thinking it`s about killing terrorists is missing the boat. It`s really about winning the people. You can kill all the terrorists but then you`ve pissed people off and created 100 more.

Well I believe our Cadets due to their younger generation are sometimes just carried away by their own time. Maybe that forum is one of their escape in their rigid life as cadets. . Remember the batches of the '70s? Rebellion, activism, quarter storm etc. But as you have said, they're carrying the PMA with it.

Hope with this forum it would reach our Cadets (as I believe some fellow posters here are also posters there) that some comments they read here is how other people sees it and believe should be corrected.

Don't feel bad guys. Take it as a positive criticism. You are our future AFP Officers.

But I feel bad, I was completely taken aback by the quality of the writeups and ideas our expensive cadets have been posting there. The shallowness, the immaturity, the silliness of it all...what have gone wrong? :armysad:
