Whooooalaaaah!!!

I dont know if i am gonna laugh or cry.

I've tried going over the threads and noticed this 166 number on this ship.

:funnypost:

My goodness! :armyLol:

PG-116, BRP Nicolas Mahusay (Gold Cross, Infantry, Philippine Army, posthumous, awarded for gallantry in action during the Korean War) was commissioned much later on July 2, 1998.

PG-116 was originally designated as a spares source by the PN and was slated to be picked apart to provide spares for the rest of the fleet. This plan has since been changed and a request for proposal has been issued by the PN for a full overhaul of two units including the replacement of existing MTU diesel engines with GM or Caterpillar diesel engines.

More info: (from HUEYBRAVO.NET http://www.hueybravo.net/NavyPages/PKMclass.htm)

Guys, so that one in front is the Gatling? :specool:

Compare "what believed to be is a Vulcan on that PG116" to this one "on the stern of the Korean PKMs".

Good Job NAVY!!! :thumb:

How about the performance? At par with the original set-up or better?

If they can do that, maybe they can do the same to those decom U.S. ships I'm telling about? I know Sir Maniegom discourages us about such mothballed fleets, but what if they were given free, our expense will be more on the activation and transport only, right?

I read in the Philippine Star a few days ago in their Classified ads that the Philippine Navy is looking for bidders for the upgrade of two (2) PKM Wildcats. However, I forgot the budget but something to the tune of P200++ Million..

Can somebody from this forum provide me with details of this upgrade.

Does the alleged upgrade includes installation of modern guns, missiles, fire control radars and modern navigation radars?

Yes it is true. This is part of PN modernization program. The two boats were acquired from South Korea and will be modernized to current PN standards.

These two ships are in addition to the 6 PKMs already in use with the PN.

I've been told that the modernization included an engine replacement.

Interesting note though - the Sokor builders have not bid on the overhaul and upgrade, at least not when the bids where originally announced so it is left to local Phil companies.

Can u provide me with updates on the plan to acquire CB-90H, Corvettes and OPV's?

I'm a bz man nowdays and because of that, I only visit the site when I have the time to spare...

Thanks Mr. Manoksi

Hoping for future updates from you.

Read the other stories in the scanned article gentlemen and weep.
Anyone who comes to a counter-insurgency thinking it`s about killing terrorists is missing the boat. It`s really about winning the people. You can kill all the terrorists but then you`ve pissed people off and created 100 more.
