Question: Did our F8 pilots get to practice aerial refueling?
Command is about authority, about appointment to a position. Effective leadership is different. It must be learned and practiced in order for it to rise to the level of art. You must love those you lead before you can be an effective leader. You can certainly command without that sense of commitment but you cannot lead without it; and without leadership, command is a hollow experience. .. a vacuum often filled with mistrust and ignorance.

nope, no aerial refuelling was practiced either here or in the US where they were trained. Bullpups also were not part of the original weapons package for the F-8, im not sure if in later years this was purchased. Weapons familiarization for the F-8 was focused on A2A, at least initially.

Thanks for the reply! I was factoring the aerial refueling to our possible MRF choices.

Hey guys did you know that in the 1960's when Russian pilots were asked which American aircraft they feared the most, they answered it was the F-8H Crusader?
Thought you may want to know.
God bless . . .

The a/c in revetments are the F8s; the 7 a/c in the opne are NOT S211s but F5As; note the shapes; what is not visible are the a/c within the alert shack and in the other hangars.

interesting pics if I may say so...
