add that to the 19 Special Forces.

HOW MANY MORE MUST DIE JUST LIKE THAT BEFORE WE REALIZE AND PUT IN PLACE THE SOLUTIONS?
Current military commander during the fiasco that killed 10 SRs was replaced.

Army spokesperson Major Harold Cabunoc said Colonel Carlito Galvez Jr., a veteran of Basilan and Sulu military operations, formally took over from Colonel Arthur Ang, 52, during turnover ceremonies Thursday morning.

read the whole story to get a glimpse of the blunder
It's ridiculous to know that our own troops cannot freely roam our very own territory.

It's obvious that MILF/MNLF/Abu Sayyaf are all insurgents and terrorists. Why the government holds MILF/MNLF on the same table only acknowledges their causes and legitimacy. As insurgents/rebels, they should be terminated the sooner the better.
hear say lng po sir america is holding us back to attack MILF yan ang sabe ni ERAP non initerview sya in short maraming minerals ang mindanao na gusto ren nang kano.if they really want to finsh the problem inside our country like MILF ABU SAYAF AND MNLF madali lng nmn may kasabhan kng ayaw maraming dahilan kng gus2 marmaing paraan. buy 10 ah with 20 mm and flir thats all we need forget the rocket pads flir at 20 mm or 30 mm lng sa harapan tapos ang kalaban.

Looks like nobody is excited with the FENNEC attack helicopter purchase.
Modernization should prioritize:

Patrol Ships with air/sub/ship detection, fast & lightly armed for Navy.
Surface Attack Aircraft with anti ship/sub attack capability for Airforce.
SAM with Radars, Close AA battery capable of shooting ground targets too for Army.
This triangle defense will work together and protect us from external threats.

Obviously. I know its still better than nothing, but the fact that they previously tried to purchase some dedicated AH like the cobra gunships, it just means they got some smart officials there seriously enough to know the importance of having the proper tools to use for COIN. Its frustrating, and hard to believe that they must have reallocated their budget away from this previous projects and now settling for an inferior version of AH instead of adding more funds.

if its the fennec, lets hope that its way better than advertised :apache:

sabi daw kasi ni Z before that its very probable that its the twin engined fennecs with night capability for some units and spares / service / ammo included. sumusunod yata sa blackout directive. :brrt: joke

Z, pwede naman pm lg sa amin dito :devilwink:

Last time i remember, only 3 out of 10 will have the nighty stuff.

Twin engine AS555 Fennec2? i hope so, but i doubt it.

According to Aug. 8, 2012 issue of Jane's Defence Weekly that due to availability issues of the preferred AW-109E Power derived attack helicopter - the DND has chosen 4 AS-550 Fennec light combat helicopters for the PAF this year.

JDW said these four Fennecs are part of a cancelled order by Libya and is expected to be delivered to the Philippines instead this year. The Fennecs are said to be urgently needed to provide air cover for CO-IN ops while the PAF's fleet of MD-530 Defender light attack helicopters are to undergo SLEP.

As reported also by JDW, the DND said that the AW-109 would still be purchased at a latter date to be operated by the Philippine Marines and the Philippine Navy.

^ That settles it then. It was really just between Fennecs and AW109 after all and everything would have been AW109s if there weren't availability issues.

P.S.
Kaya kailangan talaga there is some form of realism as basis for our speculations kung hindi mapupunta sa fantasy ang thread.

Here's interesting info gentlemen because in the same article its stated that there are actually 10 Fennecs intended for Libya but only four were purchased by us and sadly for us also 14 Rafale MRFs and 8 Eurocopter Tigers. Sayang, kulang pera natin ngayon.

Hopefully, when there is funding for the P468-500B those can be considered as one of the contenders.
