Finalization of the bidding was overtaken by the 1998 financial crash.

I read Janes Defence Weekly yesterday in the library, having missile on Jacinto is said to be part of the upgrade, i can't borrow to scan for you guys because it's under reference section, but i'm sure it's the one with one of the april issue 2005 if anyone with access to the magazine may want to read it.

Hmm.
I don't recall antiship missiles being part of any actual deal for them...
and any antiship missiles for the Jacinto-class boats may have to be fairly light.
(I'm not even sure there's space for all the pancit that goes with it.)
My understanding is that, bilge-keel already in, the boats are still roll-prone.

Manoks...
Just skimmed your Orbat Andrada page:
IIRC, PG-389 is the BRP Teotimo Figuracion, and 'PG-391' one of the spares hulks.
I could be wrong though.

i'll try to look for it at the other library that allows me to borrow but it'll take sometime, somebody may have borrow it already. As usual anything interesting i'll scan it.

:)

Not doubting you, spider.
Not at all:

I'm just wondering if Jane's wasn't regurgitating outdated, VERY general intentions.
It's just that, even with bilge keels on, the Jacinto's can act as if top-heavy, as-is.
For a putative OPV (even a midget OPV like the Jacinto) sea handling is all-important.

Horge is right afaik. The RN already modified the three ships in this class with deeper bilge keels long before they were transferred to the PN. The two that were transferred to Ireland never went through that upgrade.

As for missiles, I dont think they are getting any. A new gun, new fire control is included in Phase I, Phase II is new engines and that's it afaik.

There is little free weight to add any heavy missiles and the class is already top heavy.

Oh and as far is Janes is concerned, they are sometimes wrong - I recall Janes calling PN Islanders "Fokkers" and somesuch nonesense.
