Guys, just surf the net on Israeli weapons and found a Flag raise by an Israeli-made Super Dvora III that looks like the Philippine Flag....

http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/nav...uperDvora3.html

What are those flags used for in a Naval ship/s? Are there any links to know its definition? Thanks

Looks like a some sort of naval pennant to me, not our flag.

Nice ship design indeed.

BUT IT WILL STILL BE IN OUR BEST INTEREST TO BUILD SMALL SHIPS IN OUR OWN SHIPYARDS.

Our Navy should encourage local shipbuilders to start designing and offering naval ships for our Navy.

These local shipbuilders should forge a partnership with manufacturers of naval guns and similar weapons system so that they can arm these locally-built ships with modern weapons system and make them at par with the Israeli and other foreign designs.

the Israelis are open into license-production agreements. maybe they will allow us to build the Super Dvora IIIs in our local shipyards. :specool:

however, the Philippine Navy seems to be more interested in getting CB90Hs than Super Dvora IIIs. :dunno:

No problem at all.

The CB90 are perfect for our SWAG and riverine patrols too. This boat is appropriate for spec ops operations.

The Dvora will complement our coastal patrol groups.

I believe it will be perfect if we will create a task group similar to the Stingray guarding Boracay with these Israeli boats, complementing another Cyclone-class or Fremantle-class ship.

flipzi: that's a good idea. a Cyclone or Fremantle class mother ship with Super Dvora IIIs complementing it... :specool:

however, what i wanted to see in the navy are corvettes, OPVs, missile-armed FACs, new landing ships, mine countermeasures vessels, fleet support vessels, maritime patrol aircraft and multi-role naval helicopters. we have quite a good inshore patrol fleet already... :dunno:

:agree:

I too share the thinking on your idea about getting the bigger and better-armed assets for our very weak Navy.

flipzi: we all wanted to see our very weak Navy rise up and become a modestly-armed but highly capable force to reckon with but as long as the current system persists, we will never see improvements in the PN and the whole AFP. :armyfrown:
