Sirikittong, my friend, i really admire your confidence towards us Filipinos. it's so sad that it is foreigners like you who are the first to appreciate the potential of the Philippines and its people while most of us here seem to just take things as they are instead of fighting back to change the status quo. :drunk:

That may be true, but this is for the short term, no? Singapore's weakness will be her demise. The fact that the country is a mere island to house so many, is an absolute weakness. Her natural resources are minimal to nothing; whilst 'poorer' and 'weaker' states that she might range such as the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam have immense natural resources and many of which remain untapped. This is the base for later growth.

:armyLol:
SG all along don't have any natural resources but that did not prevent the Brits to turn her from a sleepy fishing village to busiest port in SEA in 1800s.

Likewise, since independence within 30+ years ,she has become the first developed nation in SEA , & that is without natural resources. :armywink:

And in 1997 Currency crisis, SG is totally not affected by it, whereas resources rich nation countries like Thailand, Indonesia and MY etc all almost bankrupt and only recently recover!!!

Why?

Becos SG has one resource that is outstanding, the people, i.e. the hardworking, resourceful etc but most important is the Brain!!!

Singapore maybe a medium level threat to you but youknow very well that our navy easily outmatch your navy, not to mention our air force. It will be foolish for Thailand to act as aggressive power in SEA, not with SAF ready to counter any attempts. :nono:

You'd better stop your bragging or you'll have to face the might of both the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of the Philippines, you Singaporean freak! :rifle:

:btt: All these damn "my soldier can kick your soldier's as$" is getting tiring. This is about the Thais and the Filipinos at sea, not some pissing contest.

You need to calm down, let him be "mayabang," Don't let him get into your mind.

aside from counter-terrorism, what other aspects can the Philippine and Thai navies can have cooperation? will it be possible for the PN and RTN to have joint military exercises in, let say, Palawan or at the Gulf of Thailand? :pistols:

We have not lost hope, maybe u did but do not include us in your stereotyping binge. There are people who work hard to make it happen.

lol. That may be so, my friend, but you have to understand that Britain poured millions in developing your country. And 'country' as it is, it is very small, hence it is easy to develop it, since it is 1/1000th the size of Thailand. LOL. Singapore is not plagued by warring neighbours such as the Burmese, Laotian communists as well as the ever threatening Vietnamese. You are not constantly experiencing insurgency problems (primarily because Singapore is a nation of immigrants). The chinese and indians in your country are all immigrants, whilst the original malays are now the current minority. I know the history of Singapore, because Singapore was once territory of the Thai Empire centuries ago, as was the Pattani Kingdom (which stretched all entire Peninsular Malaysia).

So you understand, nations like Philippines, Indoneseia, Thailand are conducting continual military operations against insurgents and this results in millions spent every year for combative areas. Singapore does not experience this.

The main point is, singapore's size and its foreign investment is its cause of success. While our naitons are MUCH larger and take time to develop; also, our populaitons are FAR MORE numerous that yours lol. Philippines is already hitting 85 million, Indonesia has over 250 million, Malaysia has 28 million and Thailand has 67 million. lol.

And as for the financial crisis, we have passed taht already, okay? Thailand has already gained back and surpassed its pre-crisis gnp/gdp per capita; we are experiencing over 6% economic growth. So, let us see what will happen!

Who knows..someday sg might be clamoring for thai aid someday. lol

My regards to my Philippine friends! Im hoping for a fast recovery for your beautiful country! Chai Yo!
