I think we should keep the PMA for the army then start a Philippine Naval Academy and a Philippine Air Force Academy.

Explain why.

It would form new officers in education that corresponds to the needs of their respective service branches instead of just one which wouldn't be able to divide the learning structure plus more graduates and opportunities though i disagree that it would curl adventurism.

Where are the planes that are to be flown by the air cadets? Where are the vessels that the naval midshipmen would use?

Why not if it would better the organization was the objective but the real reason they advocate this is that military junior officers well officers rebel.

Well if organization is being made dirty by group of azzhat that should protect and develop the country and it great and prosper and forward the peoples interest do this

USING THE MILITARY BEYOND ITS CONSTITUTIONAL MANDATE
MONEY OF THE PEOPLE STOLEN USED FOR PERSONAL INTEREST WHILE THE MASS SUFFER INCLUDING THE SOLDERS WHILE DIEING FOR THE COUNTRY.

and many more the list goes on and on.

does not need a special committee or anything the problem is in there fV@ck!*g faces they don't want to admit it.

“As long as we are not willing to provide an adequate, suitable and capable defense for this country, we will be oppressed, demeaned and dishonored. We will be the stepping mat of every country in this region,”(Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile)

“Just because we are a very weak country militarily, we should not be taken advantage of by more powerful countries" (Senate committee on national defense and security chairman Panfilo Lacson)

What is your point then? Is it to support separate service academies or not? Based on your arguments, it seems that the problem lies in vested interest of certain group of people.

Well THE POINT IS ITS NOT THE RIGHT TIME!! comrade with all due respect to and the forum its obviously a politically motivated move on part of congress they should help the armed forces with its modernization and keep them away from politics and improve benefits to them rather make useless attempts like this! its not the time yet to make legislation like this we need to modernized the our forces now they should concentrate time and money there.

Lawmaker: No need for separate military academies

Quote:

MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Francis Escudero on Tuesday said he sees no need to establish separate academies for each of the Armed Forces of the Philippines' three branches.

Bills seeking to create an academy for the Philippine Navy and another for the Air Force, apart from the existing Philippine Military Academy, were discussed in a Senate national defense and security committee hearing Tuesday morning.

Escudero, chairman of the committee, said resource persons from the military themselves do not agree with the proposals.

"Tila hindi suportado ito ng Sandatahang Lakas sa ngayon. Unang una, dahil kulang sa pondo," he told reporters after the hearing.

The senator added that such proposals would not be feasible in the Philippine setting.
