Another stupid American managed to take Saddam's pictures inside his detention cell and leaked the images to the Sun. The ignorant and uncultured Americans actually think the pictures are very funny, not for once thinking that the pictures are again the most effective tools for recuitment of insurgents and terrorists. Not one in the US military establishment probably understands the Arab male culture. Many Iraqi males who are anti-Saddam feel similarly humiliated. And that Rumsfeld and Bush idiots continue to believe that they can easily defeat the insurgency. |

One little two little three little four little... Behind every successful man, there is a woman And behind every unsuccessful man, there are two. A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.... | |

It is a serious violation of the Geneva Convention that prisoners of war shall be accorded with full protection under detention and shall not be exposed to public humiliation and ridicule. Since the most popular English tabloid The Sun was the first to publish the photos, it might have been smuggled by a soldier (guard) to it's correspondent in Iraq for a huge amount of money. The Sun is noted for this kind of scandal by paying thousands of dollars to those who can provide them with a controversial item that can boost the sale of the newspaper. A firing squad is not enough for the one's responsible.

The tabloid is not to blame here as long as the pictures are genuine which apparently are. The American prison guard who took the pics should be the one held liable. His pictures is fanning ore hatred and will eventually result to the deaths of several US and coalition soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. |

True, but this is so serious that it foments worldwide agitation, the same as the blunder Newsweek has done with over a couple of hundred people died when they published about a disecrated Qu-ran by US guards at Guantanamo Detention Center in Cuba. Newsweek later apologized but the damage has already been done. Tabloids like the Sun (British newspaper) has no regard of whatever consequences their news items could bring about as long as it earns them millions even at the expense of their own contingent in Iraq. Unlimited freedom of the press has contributed much to the deterioriting world order that even had gone to the point of causing unnecessary loss of lives, by publishing sensitive issues from war torned areas not to mention some of the falsehoods that should not have been released into the world and be consumed by delicate and radical minds. |

Man reportedly attacks Saddam in court Defense team says former Iraqi president, attacker exchanged blows AMMAN, Jordan - Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was attacked by an unidentified man during his appearance at a court hearing in Baghdad on Thursday, his defense team said on Saturday. The team, which has an office in the Jordanian capital Amman, said in a statement that the man attacked Saddam and the two exchanged blows during a hearing attended by defense lawyer Khalil Dulaimi. "As the president stood to leave the courtroom one of those present attacked him and there was an exchange of blows between the man and the president," the statement said. Story continues below ↓ advertisement The head of the tribunal did nothing to stop the assault, the statement alleged. It did not say if Saddam was hurt. The Iraqi Special Tribunal trying Saddam on Friday released photographs of the toppled leader being questioned on the suppression of Kurdish and Shiite uprisings in 1991. The photographs were taken during a hearing in Baghdad on Thursday, the tribunal said. Saddam has been formally charged with the killings of Shiite Muslims in the village of Dujail in 1982 but no date has been set for his trial. |
