Did it look good?

I felt sorry seeing those guys doing it?

BTW, sorry about my comment about cadets from your Alma Mater collapsing during parades, didn't meant to offend you guys. But honestly, I did saw once or twice did happened. Just like you, I did attended lots of parades being 3 years cadet in HS and 1 year RR + 3 years cadet officer in CMT. Being martial law then, Apo Macoy is fond of parades and most of us youths enjoyed wearing the uniform during parades. The incident I saw was the cadets are in formation along side with PMMA and PNPA, with us, I think for the first time, a rag-tag contingent of MCMTC were included. Our group were resting and watching in awe your guys and the others. Of course all eyes kami dahil those were the cream of the crops that's worth emulating. We saw one of yours in the brink of collapsing and I believe a quick responding officer standed at the back of the cadet and held him discreetly. I'm not sure what he is telling the guy and what he is doing with his back (maybe to move some circulation). I'm not also sure if this was the same incident were in we saw a guy fell of with nobody minding him and only 2 guys in fatigues picked him up on a stretcher. I mentioned it in the Baguio scenario because we did also had some arguements of that incident, that your boys are not used to the hot weather of Manila compared to those with PMMA's sunburned boys of Ft. Bonifacio. I know how hard it is to wear the gala uniform and shaku standing under the sun for a long period and waiting for FM's long speeches to be finished. And with that, it did erased our projection that you are robots and unbreakable. Tao din pala.

Again, no offense meant.

I believe you and no offense taken. :armywink:

I've heard of cadets collapsing in later years. Times have changed you know. I can only speak of the 70s when it was a mortal sin to collapse in a parade, same was true for the PMMA boys. The repercussions were real. Of course, we lived in "kinder and gentler" times.

you're gonna get the ire of the mods commando if you continue with your stupid one-liners and misplaced smilies.

Calm down, Aerocobra. Don't turn this excellent forum for the greatest minds in the country into a colosseum. :aberet:

Who was the last Filipino (Philippine citizen, so Fil-Ams don't count) to graduate from the Citadel?

What about Norwich Military Academy?

Actually, it's Norwich University, a private military college, reputed to be the first school to offer ROTC.

Have you guys heard of the Virginia Military Institute? It is also known as the West Point of the South. The only difference is that it is not technically a pure military academy. It has a lot of ROTC programs and commission is optional after graduation (that means, you don't have to serve in the military after graduation) just like the Japanese Defense Academy. VMI's notable students are Goerge C. Marshall (US Army Chief-of-Staff during WWII) and George S. Patton Jr. (Commander of the US 3rd and 7th Army during WWII).

Maybe we should have a second PMA. But what should we name it? And where should we establish it?

Philippines should have an additional Airforce, and Naval Academies.

Right now, PMA is mostly only for the training of foot soldiers, so we also need professional and well trained combat flyers and navigators too.

No we don't need a second PMA. We shouldn't copy the US just because they have a service academy for every service except the US Marine Corps. (They even have a Coast Guard Academy for Pete's sake) Funds for a new military academy should go to buying new planes for the Air Force or new ships for the navy that have missiles. One military academy and all the ROTC programs at civilian universities all over the RP should be able to meet shortages in officers.

That's a total crock of sh*t and you know it. A number of of PN Admirals and PAF Generals come from the PMA. We'll get all the pilots and navigators we have from PAFFS and PAFOTS.

In so many words, it will always boil down to one thing and that means funds and support from all the proper institutions to make this happen and be recognized.

What needs to be concentrated on is how to make the existing academies more creditable and that will again wind down to funds and credibility.

Do we need another one? Why not improve first on the present institutions we have and go from there? Then we can decide on the next route afterwards. :crawling:
