After reading the thread of Rocky Serrantes, I believe that the PN has that Spike missile. it is very convincing RP the next Saudi Arabia?! WOW, I hope this true, it would power all of our electric powerplants, convert our motor vehicles into clean and efficient gas powered vehicles, export the excess. use part of the revenue to modernize the AFP. |

Actually I wonder the validity of the report, first thing you don't need a ATGM for against pirate boats and insurgent speed boat??? An 30mm autocannon has abt the range of 4km , has more than enough standoff range against small arms of such boats. So it is a overkill. Secondly autocannon plus ammo will much more cheaper than a missile which the reported max range of the Spike ER is only 8km. At that range is quite limited as compare to modern naval missile. Thus it will be much more cost effective to invest in a fully stabilised autocannon than ATGM on a PV. |

May i add also to rocky serantes about SHELL natural gas project. Actually Shell Exploration in the Malampaya area was already intended for another platform will be added in 2007 and 2009. About three platform will be situated in the Malapaya Gas field. A part of the 4.5 Billion dollar investment of the Royal Dutch/ Shell Group. Alam nyo ba na ang Primary contractor ng Malampaya platform ay ang KBR. And the real score on the governments effort to sell its part in the Natural Gas Share was still under discussion. Many investor are willing to buy the said shares. Prospect buyers are company's from China, Singapore, Malaysia and some European and US firms. Also the Malampaya platform is suppose to be starting to pump out oil but the Shell management said that the amount of the oil deposit is not sustainable for the expenses in their operation. Kaya ni lease na ng ibang stake holder ang share nila din. Marami ding welling to buy there share as what i mention. Possible additional Exploration in Sulo Sea was undertaken by PNOC specially in Cotabato Basin. So adding more support in the development of PN's effort in guarding the area is a great addition to the fleet of PN and PAF. Fire power in the Sea and Air is needed to secure this platforms.Kaya their support are very essential to the AFP. Key contractors Kellogg Brown & Root and Foster Wheeler were Shell’s main EPC contractors on Malampaya, responsible for the upstream and downstream components respectively. The main pipelaying contract was undertaken by Allseas using its Solitaire vessel. Cameron Singapore supplied the subsea trees and manifold. Under subcontract to KBR, design, construction and installation of the platform’s concrete substructure were handled by an alliance of Arup Energy, John Holland and Van Oord ACZ. Sembawang was responsible for topsides fabrication and Heerema for topside transportation and floatover installation. The Fluor Daniel-Amec alliance is providing operational support. |

Addtional Info also . ![]() Effort also to guard the palawan area was the presence of the additional Field Gas Exploration operated by Nido Petroleum Company. Kaya additional Security must be taken for the safety of the team and the malampaya structures. |

can small combat vessels such as PKMs and Cyclones armed only with anti-tank missiles cover a vast area like the Malampaya-Camago oil and gas field? i think what we need in those areas are helicopter-capable offshore patrol vessels and guided-missile corvettes.

IsraeliWe now see the urgency to provide and buy an OPV for the Philippine Navy and High Endurance Cutter for the PCG. We need a High endurance vessel to be deployed in this area to allow the maximum security of the gas fields located in the vicinity of palawan. We cant just deployed those PKM's and Cyclone because they are not suitable for the open sea operation. We need the OPV's with helicpter deck to be stationed there. This smaller fleet must be a back up or escort of the OPV in the operation. |

PNOC to get new service contract for development of Malampaya oilfield By Donnabelle L. Gatdula The Philippine Star 10/22/2005 The Department of Energy (DOE) will issue a new service contract (SC) for the Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC) to develop an oilfield beneath the $4.5-billion Malampaya deepwater-to-gas power project in Northwest Palawan, an industry official said. The official, however, noted that the DOE can only issue the new contract for the development of the oil rim if it accepts the conditions set by the Malampaya consortium. The DOE has yet to agree on the conditions set by the consortium composed of Shell Phils. Exploration B.V. (SPEX), Chevron-Texaco, and PNOC-Exploration Corp. The consortium relinquished its right to the oil rim development after proving that the oil under the Malampaya natural gas field is not commercially viable. The Malampaya oil rim, estimated to contain up to 40 million barrels of oil, is covered by SC 38. "DOE will issue the SC to PNOC then other players can get on board," the source said. The DOE has directed PNOC to take the lead in developing the Malampaya oil rim following the decision of the consortium to relinquish its rights to the project. According to the official, PNOC will have an option to bid the development of the oil rim to other industry players or enter into joint venture agreements with interested parties. "It will be up to PNOC on how it will handle the oil rim development," the source said. The SC 38 consortium, in deciding to relinquish its rights to the oil rim, said it is willing to work together with the DOE and the third party "subject to conditions that will safeguard the integrity of the natural gas reservoir and the existing development and offer reasonable indemnity to protect the gas project from the impacts that arise from the oil rim development." PNOC president Eduardo Mañalac earlier said the agency is willing to accept the decision of the DOE should it be tasked to spearhead the development of the oil rim. "From the PNOC side, we’re prepared. We’re ready to accept if the development of the oil rim will be assigned to us by the DOE. We have to take it since we’re the government," Mañalac said. After SPEX’s announcement relinquishing its rights to the oil rim, DOE opened the project to international and local oil companies. "While we note that the SC 38 consortium considers the oil rim non-commercial based on their economic parameters and standards of operation, we look forward to tapping other oil companies that consider the oil deposits viable to produce," Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla said. Lotilla is optimistic that they could start a partnership with a third party "soonest to optimize the opportunities in the development of the oil rim for the benefit of the Filipino people and with reasonable returns for participating third parties." There are several foreign firms such as AustralAsian Energy Ltd., US-based Argo Group, PetroEnergy Resources Corp. (PERC), South China Resources Inc. and Norwegian firm Petroleum Geoservices Inc. that have expressed keen interest in developing the oil rim ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ugency for a greater security should be taken by the AFP and the government as well. Madaming prospect project and company's to provide services for oil drilling. kaya WE NEED OPV's in the area |
