what happened to their previous plans of arming the 3 Jacinto Class patrol vessels with exocet missiles?

That's the reason why I didn't like the idea of acquiring the WHEC 715 unless a MIRACLE change is in the works right now that we don't know? More reason why we shouldn't take their word for anything, especially for plans and acquisition of Military assets with deletions involved, because for sure those assets will be as it is for life, same with the Idea of Interim MRFs! We'll all be stuck with it for the rest of our lives.... So much better to opt for something BRAND NEW that will last us a longer time.

The Philippines has lost every major war it was involved in: not because our soldiers were not good enough - I am convinced they were and still are -, but because of lack of proper equipment.

A quote from the movie "The Kingdom of Heaven".

Mullah: [the mullah pays a visit to Saladin in his tent after the battle at Kerak] Why did we retire? Why? God did not favor them. God alone determines the results of battles.

Saladin: The results of battles ARE determined by God, but also by PREPARATION, numbers, the absence of disease, and the availability of water. One cannot maintain a siege with the enemy behind. How many battles did God win for the Muslims before I came... that is, before God determined that I should come?

Mullah: Few enough. That's because we were SINFUL.

Saladin: It is because you were UNPREPARED.

There are rumors that the reason why the major weaponries were removed because they will be replaced by other types of weaponries, now i dont know how true it is and i dont know how advance or primitive weapon system it is and how cheap it is. That's why we should wait and see.

Now going back to the Jacintos, i am not really sure why they never proceed in arming it with some SSM system. Was it because of the corruptions or simply cancelled the idea? I dont believe they were short in funds during that time, the funds are there but if it is indeed because of corruption then it was misused, that is the right term.

If it was cancelled just like that because of disagreement or something, then that's a plain stupidity. Now where we are at, where is our pride as filipinos? It really saddens me as a filipino, and im sure im not alone.

Spratly/KIG and REED Bank are two separate issues.

Quote:

It seems the Philippines is drawn into something different in turn out of events, if we try to analyse the situations most of the Local and Foreign Press and even some local Govt. officials are citing the present issue together with the SPRATLY/KIG Issues.  Most of the News reports locally whether it's on the Newspaper, TV News, Internet News are all drawn to Spratly and not REED Bank area or Protecting our EEZs and our Country's Territorial Integrity.

The Issue HEADLINE should be our Country's reaction on recent Chinese Intrusions and violation of our Territorial Integrity and Sovereignty in the REED Bank area in Wetern Palawan Sea inside our Mainland EEZ territory.

The Philippine Government must emphasize our intentions to justify our reactions, notify the Local Media and International Press to address the right issue and not to be mixed up and create confusion with the Whole KIG dispute.

The issue should focus mainly on recent EEZ INTRUSIONS and Events in "REED Bank and other nearby areas inside our EEZ" and possible Airspace as well. Not KIG!   This is a clear violation of our Territorial Integrity and Sovereignty for us to make it INDISPUTABLE!
