could be... hindI natin alam kung ano talaga ang totoo pero one thing for sure: THIS IS VERY ALARMING! I HOPE THE AFP and PN IS NOT TURNING A BLIND EYE ON THIS VERY DISTURBING AND SENSITIVE ISSUE!!!! baka mamulat na lang tayo isang umaga yung buong kalayaan grouop ay hawak na ng mga chicoms!! remember, hindi kasama sa mutual defense treaty with the US ang spratly islands pag nagkaroon ng invasion duon - look at what happened to mischief reef for example...

dba d sakop ng mutual defence treaty ung kalayaan islnds?

Di po sakop ng MDT ang contested areas like Spratly's.

BTW, with what is happeniong right now in that area, i believe it is about time we send in more patrol sorties.

Another team like the TF Stingray setup will definitely deter more attacks.

The newer Patrol boats with helipad that the Navy is acquiring will greatly help scare away these pirates.

The attack chopper onboard the patrol boat will make it hard for the pirates to escape or even dare to enter our territory.

this incident should not be dismissed by the AFP as a mere "isolated incident" just like what it did in several "close encounters" with the Communist Chinese and other claimants of the Spratly Islands. the Chicoms will surely use the incident as a basis for "strengthening their force" in the disputed islands and, at the same time, might cause Beijing to frequently harass Manila diplomatically or militarily. we should remember that the Chicoms are very much around the Philippines nowadays, from the 168 Mall in Divisoria up to that controversial Northrail Project. :demon:

in lieu of this "shootout", it is but right for the PN to beef up its external defense capability with the acquisition of surplus missile boats (such as the German Gepard class and Albatros class [there are still four Albatros class missile boats left in German hands, i.e. those not acquired by Tunisia]; Greek Combattante II class; Israeli Sa'ar 4 class; South African Minister class; and Singaporean Sea Wolf class); acquisition of surplus Italian Navy AB-212ASW and Dutch and German Bo.105 helicopters to join the current PN fleet of Bo.105 helicopters (with the Bo.105s being given upgrades); acquisition of fixed-wing maritime patrol aircraft; and set-up of naval monitoring stations in various parts of the country. :fire:

China is a communist country and they are supporting the NPA.

They're nationalistic?

Well, that Spratly issue tells it all.

:fire:

Flipzi, China is now more of a Capitalist Nation rather than a communist.

I am sure that you are aware of the National Highway Program. The bidding of the road construction for the National highway was won by a Chinese Gov't state run Company.

SO let us assume that they are communists.

Why did the NPA (also communist ) ask this company ( A Communist ) to pay revolutionary taxes?

The management of this company had a talk with the NPA and told them that they were not going to pay the revolutionary taxes since they are communists as well. comrad in arms.

What happened next?

The NPA told the chinese bastards that they were not comrads since the idealism of communism died with Mao and china is now a capitalist state.

They burned several tractors, bulldozers and dump trucks. . . .

Communists ei... so does the NPA support the chinese? :sniper:

But it was the setup before China realized the benefit of dancing with the Western industrial powers.

COMMUNISM DID DIE WIT MAO! :thumb:

Now, this is what's making me sick. The local commies still believe that their ideology is the solution to our problems. I cannot understand how the hell they still have the conscience to call themselves nationalistic WHEN ALL THEY DO IS EXTORT MONEY FROM CIVILIANS AND ATTACK GOVT UNITS. Maybe, they dont have a conscience at all.

Maybe, the NPA and the CPP or NDF still want to hold on to that just to save face, i guess.

How pitiful!

China has long realized the benefit of working together with the world's industrial powers like the US but the local communist group still wants to hold on to their flawed and ineffective ideology.

So china is really not looking at spratly's for a military installation.... spratlys will just make their claim to areas with abundant natural resources accessible. ie. natural gas.

And your right, Communism in china died with Mao. the only communist countries right now is Cuba and N.korea.

:btt: still, with this very recent incident, they say that "pirates" might be doing doing these attacks within the spratly area; i say NOT. why? e lahat ng islands, islets, and small and inhabitable reefs e puro may mga naka station ng mga military personnel (of different country claimants) to guard these small islands kaya imposible na mga pirates ang gumawa nun. malamang mga military/naval personnel ng mga claimants ang may kagagawan nito, they want to make this kind of incident para mayroon silang "grounds to intervene" within the area (palalakihin ang sakop nila physically)...

... we should step-up or beef-up our naval presence within this area also by providing more ships, helos, MPA, or what ever available resources/equipment we have, remember malapit ang malampaya din dito kaya we (AFP) should have doubled-up the security here.

... AFP-PN should act now! or before its too late...
