I really don't know why our Govt. can take it easy on what's been happening regarding harassment, intrusions that we've been getting since FEB and just few weeks ago all happened within our Territories.... :dunno:

Regarding intrusions on our territorial waters, at least we have something to deter and Protect our Seas, but Air Intrusions? I can't understand why are they totally not doing anything about it? Simple as acquiring Interim MRFs as Desperately Needed by the PAFs Air Defense Wing Squadron, which right now has ZERO capability to handle any aerial Threats of any kind!

It seems Malacañang has applied one of the infamous orders of a certain PN Officers that led to the success of intrusions and occupations of some islands in KIG which is the "DO NOTHING POLICY"

The recent Chinese Defence Chief visit clearly made an effect after the meeting forcing our Govt. to suspend Oil Explorations in Spratley's and it's nearby waters including REED Bank area, which for me Spratleys area is ok to suspend but REED Bank area, according to P.Noy's press release is not part of the Disputed Islands.

So thus this mean the Govt. shall continue with it's Oil and Gas Explorations in REED Bank?

Because if our Govt's activities there are suspended as well, we are clearly sending a Bad Precedent here and not standing our ground regardless whether our AFP are ill-equipped or not.....

"DO NOTHING POLICY WILL MAKE ALL MATTERS WORST FOR US!"

"A Wise Leader never seeks out War, But he must Always be READY for it..."

It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!

WE MUST ACQUIRE THIS ASAP! :tomcat:

Redhatch, that is the reef I am referring to in the latter part of my rant. We need to take that back. We also need to set ourselves up diplomatically and military so that when the time comes and the USA is forced to deal with China on a military level, they can help us get that reef back if we are unable to do it ourselves.

I would even consider a quiet diplomatic effort with the Vietnamese as they would love to get their hands on the Paracel islands which the Chinese stole from them in 1974.

Yes sir, ito nga yon, it was during Ramos time if I'm not mistaken. It didn't cross my mind until now why did Ramos, NSA Almonte and Defense Chief De Villa just turned a blind eye on that incident. West Pointer pa naman itong si Tabako.

Philippines arrests 122 Vietnamese fishermen
AFP News – 1 hour 3 minutes ago

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine police and military arrested 122 Vietnamese for illegal fishing on Monday in the biggest haul of foreign fishermen in recent memory, a police commander said.

The Vietnamese were arrested aboard seven fishing boats off the western Philippine island of Palawan, where many foreigners have been apprehended for illegal fishing over the years, said Chief Superintendent Artemio Hicban.

Hicban stressed that the Vietnamese were caught off the coast of Palawan and were not in disputed waters of the South China Sea that are subject to conflicting claims by the Philippines, Vietnam, China and other countries.

“They were caught well within our territorial waters, far from the Spratlys,” he said, referring to a disputed island chain in the South China Sea.

In recent years, many Vietnamese and Chinese fishermen have been caught poaching in the waters off Palawan, in some cases with endangered species such as sea turtles.

just send them back to vietnam, confiscate their catch and give to it our villagers in the area and confiscate the boat, the PN or local government may have a use for it. we don't want to signal to vietnam that we are to harsh on them especially if we want to rally some allies against Chinese aggression. But of course vietnam can also be a future adversary but since they are mortal enemies of China lets exploit this situation in our favor, besides in near future our fishermen might run accross their territory there too and we can always negotiate for the release of our people.

You are right Bro! Better give them a little courtesy, provided they won't ever comeback to steal our fish and intrude again... :armywink:

it reminds me of the prisoner swaps in the DMZ area of the two Koreas which are always depicted in movies. what if we just swap these commies to some of our citizens incarcerated in 'nam, i'm pretty sure there are.
