I Believe this area base is the one they are using to monitor the Whole Spratley and including our bases in Palawan, our assets like PN, PM, PAF troops, so basically they can time their responses and movements! They are just maybe waiting for the right time to catch our troops off guard and go for the kill! same style like how they took over and occupied one of our islands during a storm, which making our troops vulnerable, defenseless against nature due to outdated equipments and assets. The Philippine Govt. should step up on Modernizing the AFP, like acquiring Main Air Defense Superiority Assets to be able to do Interception, Interdiction missions in Securing our Country's Airspace and protect our Territories effectively. Our Govt. to Permanently Stationed PN Assets in the REED Bank area to deter any possible intrusions, maybe they can put up Air/ Surface and Sonar Radars in MALAMPAYA that can cover REED Bank as well and deploy Sonobuoys around the areas to secure them...

One thing I have learned during my lifetime is that bullies only respect force. You cannnot talk a bully into making concessions or backing down. A bully must have his ass kicked or hurt bad enough that he thinks seriously about tangling with you again. The Chinese are bullies anyone who says otherwise is a liar with an agenda or delusional. Look around the region over the past 50 years and tell me what China's track record is with it's neighbors? It uses force in 2/3 on the situations involving irredentist claims. The other 1/3 is uses stealth and subtlety. If we do not man up now and start taking proactive steps at consolidating our control over OUR territory we will lose it. If we dither around long enough they may actually begin to invent more ways to lay claim to Palawan. Finally we need to make a concerted effort at getting the squatters off of our reef. There is not much there at the moment that we could not kick some ass and take names. Peace |

I agree force is bad for everyone to be use especially in war but this our country we are talking about and a self respecting country acts according to its own Municipal Law and International Laws as well but sometimes countries are like people too they get in to fights we should never forget that defense is fact not a for show only some call statements like mine and comrade Tsukiyomi war mongering or saber ratting but i ask them why call yourself a citizen and complain a lot not knowing your responsibilities and duty same with pacifist i mean pacifist and pacifist people in general have point but its only a situational true not a universal true which is my argument and comrade Tsukiyomi and many others have been saying. |

"No sacrifice is too great in the service of freedom." “As long as we are not willing to provide an adequate, suitable and capable defense for this country, we will be oppressed, demeaned and dishonored. We will be the stepping mat of every country in this region,”(Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile) “Just because we are a very weak country militarily, we should not be taken advantage of by more powerful countries" (Senate committee on national defense and security chairman Panfilo Lacson) | |

Remember Mischief Reef? It was taken from us when our troops were celebrating their commander's birthday. We just can't let our guard down on these communists (China,Vietnam).

Redhatch, that is the reef I am referring to in the latter part of my rant. We need to take that back. We also need to set ourselves up diplomatically and military so that when the time comes and the USA is forced to deal with China on a military level, they can help us get that reef back if we are unable to do it ourselves. I would even consider a quiet diplomatic effort with the Vietnamese as they would love to get their hands on the Paracel islands which the Chinese stole from them in 1974. |
