The AFP, maybe, but what about ourselves? Surely, there'll be lots of civilian militias in the event of an invasion. We're probably gonna be another Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

I wonder what took them so long and still can't procure an OV-10 replacement. Imagine 5 years and still no new aircraft replacement in sight? Cguro naman wala naman Ukay-ukay sale ng mga Turboprop Attack aircrafts or maybe PAF is looking for a rock-bottom Midnight sale...

It's probably because of procurement anomalies and the PAF's endless refurbishment and SLEPs.

Plus the fact that there is a shortage of qualified and medically fit pilots and the mission requirements elsewhere.

"No sacrifice is too great in the service of freedom."

“As long as we are not willing to provide an adequate, suitable and capable defense for this country, we will be oppressed, demeaned and dishonored. We will be the stepping mat of every country in this region,”(Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile)

“Just because we are a very weak country militarily, we should not be taken advantage of by more powerful countries" (Senate committee on national defense and security chairman Panfilo Lacson)

CAMP EMILIO F AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines, after thorough deliberation of information, has validated and confirmed today the sighting of two unidentified jet aircraft in the vicinity of the Kalayaan Island Groups (Spratly’s) in the WESTERN PHILIPPINE SEAS (South China Sea) Wednesday. The aircraft was observed by 2 OV-10’s on a routine Maritime Air Patrol Mission in the disputed Islands.

I am very pleased that the AFP addressed SCS to WESTERN PHILIPPINE SEAS (Kanlurang Dagat ng Pilipinas )It is the better name to that area, I once have some disputes with naming names in the other forum where my proposal was doomed by the moderator and other members, the thread died naturally without a good discussion. I ask members of this forum to name it WPS or KDP rather than SCS since we have sovereign claims to some of KIG (Spratly Island).I am also in the process of mailing our legislators to revised popular International names of KIG and SCS to Philippine name so that our young students will be in better knowledge and start to install nationalism in their mind.

Address Spratly Island to KALAYAAN ISLANDS, South China Sea to WESTERN PHILIPPINE SEA or Kanlurang Dagat ng Pilipinas.

I agree to that. Please include in your mail to make a law making those areas called by official Philippine names like the one you suggested. I like that! :thumb:
