I take my hat off to Cambodia for standing their ground against Thailand's Modern Military that's fully equipped.

Royal Cambodian Armed Forces are very much less equipped, compared to Royal Thailand Armed Forces.

Just wished the AFP under FVR Govt. should have done the same with regards to Mischief Reef! Which made me think...... According to Mr FRENZY - "destroying buoys and markers was effective in preventing China from building more permanent structures but when it was ordered halted during the time of Ramos thats when China got the chance to rapidly build up its hold on Mischief Reef." Why did FVR stopped this operation?????

We will have more headache in the South China Sea, when this comes out!

Posted Image

For sure we will have "Air Incursions" as well which we won't be able to deter....!

Our PN will have their hands full and PAF maybe, will be going back to base the minute they respond to any kind of threat this would bring......

Re; Shi Lang Aircraft Carrier-

East and South China Sea Disputes:

An aircraft carrier is likely to enhance China’s ability to exert pressure on the neighbourhood. A carrier-centric Chinese fleet would certainly force the US to reassess its strategy in a conflict or high tension scenario. This would be another area where the projection effect of the carrier would matter more than its actual capacity.

LOHMAN: Shaping U.S.’s future in the Indo-Pacific
By Walter Lohman
The Washington Times
4:18 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

If the Obama administration’s Asia policy seems familiar, it is with good reason. In several respects, it closely mirrors that of the George W. Bush administration.

It has held firm on the presence of the U.S. Marines in Japan. It has stood forcefully by our South Korean allies as they twice faced down North Korean aggression. It dusted off the U.S.-Korea free-trade agreement with only cosmetic political changes. It picked the low-hanging fruit of consistent engagement in Southeast Asia that the Bush administration initiated but could not seem to manage.

More of the article here.

-----

what Lohman said about the Philippines:

Quote:

2) Our treaty allies. There are five in the Pacific: Japan, South Korea, Australia, the Philippines and Thailand. We will not allow any of them to be bullied. We should work to build up the weakest (the Philippines) and give it the wherewithal to stand its ground.

In the meantime, we should introduce some strategic ambiguity into how the U.S.-Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty applies. It’s hard to imagine the U.S. standing still were the Chinese to move on Philippines-occupied and -administered islands in the South China Sea. But even beyond that, the administration should make it clear that it regards Chinese harassment of Philippine vessels elsewhere within the disputed territory as hostile.

This is good to know! :thumb:

But that doesn't mean, we will rely on Uncle Sam's words... :nono:

There's this old saying.. "Mahirap tulongan ang taong ayaw tulungan ang sarili!" and we don't want that.

We have to change our attitude, learn to help ourselves and do something for us to be able to grow and be successful in anything that we do. :ssalute:
