China rejects Phl sovereignty over Spratly Islands

Quote:

MANILA, Philippines – The Chinese government cannot accept the claims of the Philippines on its sovereignty over some islands in South China Sea, a high ranking official of China said today.

This after the Philippine government filed a protest before the United Nation, claiming control over parts of Nansha Islands, parts of the Kalayaan Group of Islands.

In a regular briefing in Beijing today, spokesman of China’s foreign ministry Hong Lei said: “China has indisputable sovereignty over the South China Sea islands and adjacent waters.”

“China owns sovereignty and jurisdiction over the related sea area, seabed and subsoil,” Hong pointed out.

“The sovereignty of China over the South China Sea and related rights and jurisdiction are well-grounded from both historical and legal perspectives,” Hong added.

Early last month, the China insists sovereignty on the area where a Filipino ship, searching for oil near the disputed Spratly Islands, were allegedly harassed by Chinese patrol boats.

In a statement, Ethan Sun, China’s spokesman and deputy chief of Political Section here, said his nation has sovereignty over the area where the reported harassment happened.

Why 4? Is that a MAGIC number...a aquadron of 6 would be enough to give time for the US help to arrive if ever a situation do arise... :armycool:

there we go again, expecting Uncle Sam to come to our aid when in fact it is very unlikely that the US will intervene in the event of a conflict in the Spratlys

Truth my brothers is that we are alone in this. Or if the ASEAN will sign a military pact it would be much better. Expecting help from the Americans is so COLONIAL MINDED. Yes, we are allies with these white guys but it does not really guarantee that they will come. You always think they will but what if they don't? What would you do soldier? :dunno:

There were several discussions on this issue in its legal and territorial standpoint but the resultant arbiter to judge the most relevant position has'nt yet been realized and all are still in limbo on which country owns what and where of the territory in dispute.

MANILA--The Philippine military said Friday it planned to use a new US-made vessel to boost patrols in disputed South China Sea waters, amid a flare-up in tensions with China over rival claims.

Don't put your hopes up! I don't think US will help us on this one, because it's a disputed area, so it won't work for us on the MDT...

If ever there will be a shooting war in KIG, the only thing they can do is voice out a protests, like what Russia, China, Venezuela did on the LIBYA Issue without any Military Intervention and by the time they sort something out to stop China from invading our KIG Islands, the Chicoms may have massacred our troops and citizens there and are in full control of the whole KIG!!!
NO ONE IS TO BLAME BUT OUR GOVERNMENT for not giving PRIORITY TO THE BUDGET of AFP's MODERNIZATION.

Maybe it will take them just a DAY to do that considering our underpowered Military assets, for sure there will be a lot of casualties on our side, just thinking about what can happen is making me boil in a different feeling with full of sadness and anger! "Knock on wood" but if ever anything like this happens, I will buy the first flight ticket back to Palawan to help our soldiers organize a Civilian Defense Force. I BELIEVE FILIPINO's WON'T TAKE THIS LIGHTLY, IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS..... Regardless if ILL EQUIPPED or NOT!

It's a different story if they touch PALAWAN or The Rest of the COUNTRY, that will trigger MDT!

The US won't risk damaging it's relations with China just for us, it won't risk a possible Nuclear War! :fire: :crawling: :sniper:

Why don't our Government just talk to the South Korean Government as a an urgent need if they can spare for us to buy (6) KF5 E/F's tiger II from South Korea's Air Force inventory for $12M USD, I don't think they will deny us, for sure they will not let us pay that much or will just have them fully armed when purchased at this price! :thumb:

All they need is to set aside $12M USD from the $254M USD= P11.B Pesos DOE and it won't hurt the Budget, considering this plays an important major role as well, than some of the planned equipments to purchase like the long range choppers! since we only have the WHEC-715 that has landing dock for now and we can use (2) of our S-70 Black Hawk Choppers that are assigned to Presidential Air Wing for now, besides SOKOLs CUH arriving anytime now.... SO I THINK, IT WON'T BE A PROBLEM IF THEY DO THIS NOW or REGRET IT LATER!!!

For us to have a something effective to deter any kind of threats, and this is the only the quickest way for us to acquire MRF's if S.Korea agrees, and quickest way for our PAF Pilots to adapt in training because we are already familiar with the F5's although these SoKor F5's are more modern than A/B's that we have, our PAF Pilots are Highly intelligent and Quick learners!

We can use this as LIFTs for Future MRFs! :patrioticpinoy:

It'd be cheaper.
