this is really disgusting. our policy makers, do not give a s@#t about our territory and our armed forces. so far I know we have 9 small islands that I don't even know if our troops occupy all of them, I know the biggest island is occupied by our marines with some barracks and air strip, we should do the same to all of the rest of the islands, no matter how ill equipped our AFP, at least we can a small resistance in case of an attack. the reason why China easily took one of our islets in spratley is because its not occupied. if china attacks and we put some small resistance, then it will be in front pages around the world followed by condemnation of china. our politicians disregard the modernization of our AFP because they rather keep the money in their pockets and even make excuses that all the logistics, fighter planes, etc are too expensive. we should just abolish congress and senate and just keep the batasiang pambangsa like the late marcos did. can you imagine the billions of peso our treasury can save without these lazy crooks?, then these monies save can then be well spent for our defense!!!!!. lets fire all our politicians, they are all a waste of money. the expendable lead by sylvestre stallone and Jet Li can easily take one of the islands there in spratley.

Aquino Vows to Improve Facilities in Spratlys

HANOI – The Philippine government will proceed with plans to improve military facilities in the Kalayaan group of islands in the disputed Spratlys, according to President Benigno S. Aquino III.

In an after-dinner talk with reporters at the Grand Plaza Hotel here last Wednesday night, Aquino said his government wants to improve the dilapidated airstrip on the Kalayaan Islands soon.

Aquino said the administration would formally inform other claimants to the Spratly Islands of the plan when all details have been finalized.

Navy Spokesman Lt. Col. Edgard Arevalo had earlier said that the repair and maintenance of the outpost and airport runway are necessary for the delivery of supplies to troops stationed on the group of islands being contested by the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, and China.

The Spratlys is a group of more than 750 reefs, islets, atolls, cays, and islands in the South China Sea believed to contain significant oil and gas reserves.

The Philippines is proceeding with the repair, despite opposition from emerging superpower China.

Peace is the only solution for us with China.

We can never win a shooting war with China or any other Countries involved with regards to the spratley issue!

What we can do is just file a formal complain to UN or to have a mutual agreement with China and ask them to respect our EEZ that means vacating Mischief reef which is inside our EEZ as a matter of respect.

To have a Mutual Agreement between all of the Countries occupying Spratley Island that what ever the countries involved are occupying now will be considered their own and can do what ever they want with them.

We must find a way to earn China's respect to the Philippines as a nation and we can't do that by doing (mid night deals or other side of the contracts, bribery etc.)
and should be no strings attached.

There is no point fighting for a never ending issue regarding Spratley Island and I think this is one way we can solve the problem and would be a great chance to promote peace in SE Asia.

I think we can grow with China's fast growing economy than compared to the US in a way, let's face it Western and European Countries always wants to be on top of the game and most of the time looks on us or other Asian Countries very low and cannot accept being defeated by a Filipino in any field in life, they always trying to put us down or limit us in any way and it happens all the time......

with regards to China we can consider we are all Asians almost in the same race, culture, traditions the Asian way of life, and if China can do the same attitude in helping each other in business and in life, a typical Chinese attitude that if the Chinese can do it to any Asian neighbouring Countries like the Philippines and others, then it would be able to deliver and can do better than the US style of silent monopoly approach that would earn them greater respect all over the world and everything will be much better for us. :salute:

If things don't work for us with this kind of approach, then we must really fast track and Modernize our AFP with real dedication and priority!!! at least in the same level as our Neighbours like Malaysia and Thailand.

All of what we have right now will just be a waste if ever any occupation, invasion happens and were not able to defend our Country......

As an independent country free from slavery and invaders , we as a nation has a responsibility not only for ourselves but for our children and future generations to ensure the best armed forces we can afford to defend our country.

WE cannot depend and wait for the US to help us in time of need- that is acting like a shameless beggar, and we do not wait until the last minute( for which filipinos are famous for) before we try to build up our armed forces.

if we get conquered again, we only have ourselves to blame. Read "history of philippine army" by ricardo Jose for the reasons why Japan easily overran the philippines - our politicians believed that japan will never invade the philippines , and therefore they only allocated little money for defense. Does this sound familiar today with what our current politicians are doing ? These politicians might as well spread their legs and surrender .

Wow i thought i was the only one thinking about that well i am in this forum of patriots who believes in the country well that's nice to hear but the problem here is three things time that were wasting two money that were also wasting and spending it on stupid ass polticos lastly no love of the country and over dependence on the US and the UN (which is just like the League of Nations but only better) and no willingness to change and improve so what do you expect? from this history repeating its self we are indeed a loser of a county if this was the 19th century we be part of some empire and all we did fighting of our country will and was for noting the soon our people not just our leader realized that the better if not we are doom to repeat history.

The decision to resist will always have a strong emotional component to it(damn the torpedoes) because if one uses logic, then the decision will almost always be not to resist, and just be friendly with the invader because of the economic cost and loss of lives.

There was a similar situation in World War 2 that is one of the likely scenarios our perennially kiss-ass(sip-sip) government will follow in the future. Basically, its like what Thailand did in world war 2 when it allied itself with Japan. In return for peace, Japan stationed 150,000 soldiers on Thai soil . What a shame !!! no backbone ! :lollol: Read about it here:
http://countrystudies.us/thailand/21.htm

This is why I admire Vietnam. during the 1980s, even when its navy was already falling into disrepair, it never hesitated to uphold what it believed in and resisted in the spratlys. Even though the vietnamese lost many sailors when their ships sunk in the spratlys , they never thought about giving up resistance. The vietnamese have balls,

but what do you hear from the philippine government ? you hear all the time "we will never win" etc, thats no-balls reasoning. so what if we do not win ? we resist and fight to uphold what we believe in, and if we win then so much the better. if we lose, its ok at least we are not spineless cowards.

On a personal experience in the 1980s, the NPA basically controlled large areas of northern mindanao. many farms were abandoned or those farmers or landowners who stayed on their farms paid revolutionary taxes to the NPA to kiss their ass. I am proud to say, that my family clan never paid taxes to the NPA and consequently, the NPA tried to attack our family farm/ranch several times but they were not successful. in fact before their revenge attacks, they tried to collect taxes so my grandfather told them to come back and when they came back , we ambushed the commies and killed 3 rebels forcing them to retreat. They came back several times for revenge and we believe we killed more of them from the blood stains we saw on the grass but they dragged their dead comrades with them. Of course , it helped that my clan had many world war 2 firearms, and we were on good terms with the surrounding villages, and tribesmen who always alerted us when the NPA would come near. Good intelligence is much better than having the best weapons because it lets you ran rings around the enemy.
BETTER DEAD THAN RED !!! DEATH TO THE COMMIES !
