I would call for caution and meanwhile continuously build up the nation's defenses: get those BrahMos missiles to make sure our coasts are secured and finally get some fighters. Before that, we should be careful of what we do. Of course, we must not fire the first shot. |

"Once abolish the God, and the government becomes the God." (G. K. Chesterton) "Justice forbids, and reason itself forbids, the State to be godless; or to adopt a line of action which would end in godlessness, namely to treat the various religions (as they call them) alike, and to bestow upon them promiscuously equal rights and privileges." (Pope Leo XIII) | |

Agree. Let's be patient for now and exhaust all peaceful means while we are still building-up. |

US-Japan Strategies in South China Sea Disputes We may don't know much about the details of the recent meetings of the Philippine government and US but most likely there are other things have been discuss without US intervention on the disputed islands. the last they did is during the 1980's Afghan-Soviet War through the efforts of Senator Charlie Wilson. Still it would be better that the Philippines start being independent and not depends on the US. |

Talks to endanger China claims - study WASHINGTON – Multilateral negotiations over disputed islands, rocks and reefs in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) will most likely result in China losing part of its claimed territory and maritime rights, the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) said. Also, China’s full acceptance of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) would require it to relinquish its nine-dash line as well as its “historical rights” in the disputed waters. These were the conclusions of a government analyst after studying the findings of Chinese foreign policy institutions commissioned by the state to analyze the dynamics of the South China Sea and submit policy proposals on how to deal with both the United States and the regional players, said CNAS in an article by Yun Sun. However, such acknowledgement is collectively silenced in public, the report said. It said that within the Chinese policy community there is a rather broad but private acknowledgement of the problematic nature of China’s nine-dotted line policy, the feasibility of bilateral negotiations of multiparty disputes as well as the application of UNCLOS. The nine-dotted line is a U-shaped series of dashes drawn on a map by the then Kuomintang government in 1947, which encompasses most of the South China Sea that China claims as its own. “Beijing cannot afford to be seen as losing territory to foreign powers. Therefore, between a foreign audience and a domestic constituency, Beijing chooses to stick to its existing claims and assertions even at a high foreign policy cost,” the article said. Policy analysts in China overwhelmingly blame the United States for the rising tensions in the West Philippine Sea. In their views the US exploited the issue to alienate China’s friendship with neighboring countries, strengthen America’s alliance with the Philippines and develop a strategic partnership with Vietnam to contain China’s growing influence and maintain US superpower status in the region. http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?artic...ubCategoryId=63 |

The 9 dashj line policy claims are just wild Imaginations and fantasy of beijing to get a hold of Natural resources found within territories of other Neighboring Countries. How can they lose something that they never had in the first place..? They should abide by the Legal Laws they agreed on, change their attitude, way of thinking and mentality to be a responsible without any hidden agenda sincerely to help others in order to be a respected Superpower and if they really want to overtake the US, they must learn to live and let live especially with regards to their Neighbors, do it the other way or right way and not much worst?! |

China to Deploy Factory Ship and a Fleet of Support Vessels to SCS ... http://focustaiwan.tw/ShowNews/WebNews_Det...ID=201205060004 China to deploy factory ship in South China Sea 2012/05/06 15:44:25 Taipei, May 6 (CNA) China is deploying a factory ship and a fleet of support vessels to join its existing fishing fleet in the South China Sea amid an ongoing territorial dispute between China and neighboring countries. The Hainan Baosha 001, a 32,000-ton processing ship, along with a 20,000-ton oil tanker, two 10,000-ton transport vessels and three 3,000 to 5,000-ton supply vessels, will join the 300 to 500 fishing boats in the contested waters, according to the Wen Hui Pao, a Hong Kong-based Chinese-language newspaper. The vessel is China's largest seafood-processing ship and one of only four in the world. It carries four processing factories, 14 production lines and some 600 workers. The mothership and the other support vessels will provide the necessary facilities to process up to 2,100 tons of seafood per day. Currently, the Chinese fishing fleet cannot stay long in the region due to the lack of processing facilities. The additional ships will allow the fleet to fish in the area for up to nine months at a time. |

Could this time, our PCG board those ships if ever they intrude in our inner EEZ? To show our sovereignty over this area? Another diplomatic protest on the way, I suppose...
