Taiwan is also claiming Panatag shoal and they are calling it the same name as China. Personally, I do not trust Taiwan. Taiwan is in a position where they can turn the tables and unify back to China. Pro-unification politicians has been gaining grounds every elections in Taiwan. As the old saying goes, if you can't beat them, join them and I think Taiwan will choose to re-unify to China sooner or later. WE need to watch our backs. Taiwan is just on our front door. |

Taiwan may in fact preparing for possible military show down in WPS just in case it spreads towards their occupied island there. But i dont think they would attack china nor the philippines just to reclaim the Panatag Shoal, no matter who takes it. For one, we have a very good relationship with Taiwan even thought there is no official diplomatic relationship, and we're both friendlies to the US. Secondly, the US would not allow Taiwan to hit the philippines for an obvious reason. And lastly, i dont think they will take the risk of attacking china first, unless if they have to defend their occupied island. |

Trade recognition of PRC to Taiwan in return for Taiwan's support of our claims in the WPS. |

AFP: 4 more Chinese vessels now in Panatag Shoal May 2, 2012 6:45pm Four more Chinese vessels have arrived in the disputed Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal as of Monday night, an official of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said Wednesday. Capt. Aurello Kigis, AFP Northern Luzon Command (NolCom) spokesperson, said another marine surveillance vessel (CMS 81) and three more fishing boats have been deployed by China to the shoal as of 8 p.m. Monday. Two other Chinese marine surveillance vessels (CMS 71 and CMS 75), a fisheries law enforcement command (FLEC) and seven other fishing vessels were still spotted in the disputed area Monday night, he added. All in all, China now has 14 different marine vessels in Panatag Shoal as of Monday night, while the Philippines has so far deployed six. “The continuing monitoring being undertaken by the AFP within the Scarborough Shoal is still within the directives of Lt. Gen. Anthony Alcantara, commander of the NOLCOM to watch over the area. The AFP is meant to protect its territorial integrity,” Kigis said in a statement Wednesday. Increased presence China continues to increase its presence in the disputed shoal nearly a month after Philippine authorities caught Chinese fishermen allegedly poaching near the area, triggering the standoff between the two countries. Chinese and Filipino officials are still figuring out a way to solve the impasse through diplomatic means, with the Philippines expressing intention to bring the territorial dispute to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS). Under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the Panatag Shoal is part of the Philippines’ 200-nautical-mile exclusive economic zone. Although both the Philippines and China are signatories to the UNCLOS, China continues to claim ownership of the shoal, saying it was first discovered in the 13th century during the Yuan dynasty. While the Philippines and China air their opposing claims to the shoal, Taiwan has also asserted its supposed ownership on the disputed area, even calling the Philippines’ claim to Panatag Shoal as “illegal.” — with Andreo Calonzo/RSJ, GMA News gmanetwork.com |

PH ships ought to take some pictures or video to show the whole world what the Chinese are doing. "It's lke a bunch of robbers(Chinese Maritime Surveillance) comes in a bank, holding everyone at gunpoint(Filipinos) and hauling every goodie they (Chinese fishermen) can find before the cops (Americans) comes in". That is what they are doing in Panatag Shoal! |

If we stopped dicking around in the review of bids process and make a decision, we would have our airborne ISR assets. Some of these assets will take several months to fabricate and deliver. In the interim we need to allocate emergency funding to US companies to provide us with planes and crews to provide us with immediate support in this area. The Chinese would not dare shoot down an unarmed civilian and american ISR asset in Philippine waters. This asset in place right now would get us immediate results, put pressure on the scum sucking commie pigs and give is a better idea how to use these assets as we get them because we can always make it a precondition that we have one of our pilots and one of our future sensor operators on the aircraft that the contractor will deploy. A list of companies that offer low cost ISR support that is timely and effective AAI ATK CSC SAIC Airscan Avenge Grey Aviation Sierra Nevada (SNC) Commuter Air Technologies Two of the above listed companies are already very experienced in operating in the Philippines and have SME's that are very knowledgeable with C4ISR, current events and our nation in relation to Asia. The bigger companies like L3 and Boeing are too expensive to bring on board for a temp solution. |

Santi, the americans are not going to come in and play cops until we get attacked...we wont get attacked unless we grow a real big pair of balls and start taking concrete steps towards stopping what is happening. Like I have said many times in the past..the damn Chinese peckerwads do not care about diplomacy..they only respect FORCE Repeat after me... The Chinese must have their balls kicked in before they respect us Again... The Chinese must have their balls kicked in before they respect us OK one more time and with Enthusiasm... The Chinese must have their balls kicked in before they respect us Now go look at a sexy picture so the advertising sets in

Philippines, 5 nations meet on Coral Triangle Manila (Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN) - The Philippines may be facing tensions with China over the resource-rich Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal but it is fostering cooperation with five other countries to protect the rich marine life in the Coral Triangle. The Coral Triangle covers six million square kilometers across the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Timor Leste and features a high diversity of corals, fish and other marine life. You would be amazed what you could do with a competent force of men. I bet the US Navy seals would not be making excuses if tasked to make something magical happen. You don't need big ships brimming with high tech weaponry to make an impact. and I will say again..enforce our internationally recognized maritime laws and begin boarding their fishing boats. Be forceful if necessary to board those boats. Arrest the fishermen, videotape the contraband to include endangered species. If their larger ships attack and sink our ships in the process then they have truly fired the first shot of the war. We will win international sympathy and support and the chicom gutter scum will have revealed themselves for what they truly are and what their true intentions are. This thin veil of a "peaceful rise" will be cast away and the ugly face of China will be revealed for what it is. The videos of the illegal fishing of endangered and threatened species will help garner support from other organizations around the world for our cause. The Chinese will no longer be able to deny any knowledge of their abuses of the environment because we will then have proof that official government ships are actively supporting these fishermen in their illegal activities. In history, nations and peoples who do not fight (and shed blood) for what they truly believe is theirs and is right do not maintain what they claim to value. |
