I believed this is to relieve Goyo with much less armed PCG ships to ease the tension a bit more...

This is like a typical Salpakan or Games of the Generals' trick of psychological warfare:

1. Chinese placing those 8 fishing vessels (PRIVATE).
2. PN sent their PF15 (SERGEANT) to apprehend them.
3. China sent 2 Research Vessels (SPIES).
4. PN sending 1 PCG ship, our very own version of PRIVATE.

BRP Gregorio del Pilar personnel found these on the Chinese ships that they confronted at Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal, according to GMA News correspondent Raffy Tima (posted by him on Twitter):

@raffytima Live sharks found by Phil. Navy troops inside a Chinese fishing vessel at the Scarborough shoal.

The PN next time should arm the PF15 with one 500ft long steel reinforced cables, w/ retractable auto pulleys that could tow those illigal chinese fishing vessels altogether. This way there will be no more waiting time till other capable chinese ships could intervene or rescue their comrades disguising as fishermen!

China is using this to cover up their own problems at home. Using our coast guard to replace our PN's Goyo will ease the tension for the moment, but I still doubtful about the Chinese next move. They are sending their destroyer and maybe a submarine to scare us away. :headbang:

I hope the US Navy and other ASEAN members will also help us or they are still focused on the issue of North Korea's satellite launch. :dunno:

^^I think the USN fleet in WPS area is in standby alert as of now, and constantly advising the PN what to do next.

I honestly dont know how the philippines could defend their territory with such less capable navy and airforce. If only they could convert all their aircrafts into UAV filled with gasoline.

Oh well, they got no choice but to talk it out with diplomatic approach while waiting for more bigger weapons (IF EVER THERE IS ONE EXISTING) being purchased, or suck it out with uncle sam! Meanwhile they should be grinding those brilliant corrupt officials who have neglected the AFP modernization in the past tsk tsk:

Here's an excerpt from a report by Kansas City Star...

Quote:

MANILA, PHILIPPINES -- The Philippines and China agreed to resolve an ongoing naval standoff diplomatically, but neither side was ready to back down Wednesday in the most dangerous confrontation in the disputed South China Sea in years.

Foreign Secretary Albert Del Rosario said he warned Chinese Ambassador Ma Keqing that the Philippines would defend itself if provoked. At their meeting, both insisted the Scarborough Shoal location was part of their own country's territory.

Despite the impasse, "we resolved to seek a diplomatic solution to the issue," Del Rosario told a news conference.

"Nobody will benefit if violence breaks out there," President Benigno Aquino III said.

In this April 10, 2012 released by the Philippine Navy, Filipino naval personnel look at giant clam shells on board a Chinese fishing vessel at the disputed Scarborough Shoal in the South China Sea, near the Philippines. The Philippine government said Wednesday it agreed with China to diplomatically resolve a tense standoff involving a Philippine warship and two Chinese surveillance vessels in the disputed South China Sea, the most dangerous confrontation between the sides in recent years. The Philippine government said the standoff began when its navy tried to detain Chinese boats fishing in its waters, but was stopped by two Chinese surveillance craft.

I was quite surprised how the news crept around the world and even ending in some local US, EU and Asian media/news within matter of hours... Now, the whole world is watching... LITERALLY...

Agreed, if the scenario becomes worse (knock on wood), our PN will be fully engaged to a shooting scenario with the PLAN. We can't match their warships which are much modern and equipped with tons of weapons such as torpedoes and anti-ship missiles.

The worst thing we can't ask them to only use machine guns and cannons to use against us. It's a mismatch. We will be back our primary weapon, to file a diplomatic protest. :headbang:

right, let their powerful warships come to rescue of their illegal fishermen, lets see how the world reacts, this is exactly the time where we will know who our true friends are

No this is the time to start protesting in front of the Chinese Embassy and to start condemning Filipino's who don't support our rights to these territory. Ano hinihintay natin paawa from the world?
