According to these events.. Chinese Aircraft Carrier to Be Commissioned 'Soon' China's first aircraft carrier is likely to be commissioned officially early this year, according to press reports. Phoenix Satellite TV in Hong Kong on Wednesday quoted Jingbao Yuekan magazine as reporting the 67,000-ton retrofitted Soviet carrier "qualified to be officially commissioned as it solved technical problems concerning takeoff and landing of aircraft on the ship through three test voyages." It added the exact timing remains to be decided but is likely to be this year. It went on test voyages in August, November and late December last year. During the second test voyage, which lasted two weeks, several Jian-15 jets successfully took off and landed on the ship, the monthly reported. Overseas military magazines reported in November that China had difficulties trying to solve a landing problem because Russia had not sold it the arresting gear necessary for the aircraft to land safely. Asked by reporters to confirm this, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun, however, implied in a monthly press briefing on Dec. 28 that the problem had been solved. He said China "secured all major equipment of the aircraft carrier," including arresting gear, through its own research and development. The magazine said a Ukrainian engineering team took part in developing the arresting gear. It also reported that the Chinese military plans to build three aircraft carrier bases, with two -- in the South China Sea and the East China Sea -- already under construction. "Maybe those are Woody Island and one Island they occupy in Spratly?" http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_d...2010500886.html We really have to build to fortify our claims in KiG/ WPS particularly in "PAG-ASA" Island regardless of the previous agreements made that only favors China which are non stop on building structures in their occupied Islands around KiG up to present . The PH Govt. and AFP should build new structures for the PAF Air Base and maybe a PN HQ w/ ship dock to accommodate our PN ships as well... I don't know why are they hesitating on improving the area since it's officially a Local Municipality and part Province of Palawan..? |

Psychic says PNoy won't finish term..? http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/lifestyle/01/05...ont-finish-term It won't be because of the article above, but maybe because of losing our claim and Islands in KiG/ WPS area, that's if they don't do something about fortifying our structures in the Islands and acquire better capable Military assets soon.. in order to protect and secure those areas. They need to counter the soon to be commissioned "Shi lang" Carrier any time this year2012 and their building of aircraft carrier bases, with two -- in the South China Sea and the East China Sea -- already under construction. We all know that the next thing that can/will happen after they've accomplished all these are the deployment of the Oil Rig..

thats what I having stating. the PLAN does anything it wants in WPS. while the Phil gov't do not have the balls even to construct new defense facilities in WPS like the upgrade of the runway in Pagasa and some harbors for the PN ships, more barracks and anti air crafts emplacements, bunkers, etc. they said they signed an agreement in Malaysia recently on not building anything military infrastructures. i say boloney. the Chinese are not going to listen to us so why do we. Better prepared than sorry. Wake up Juan Dela Cruzs. lets not act and look like pussies. |

China has 'REJECTED' the maritime intrusion protest by the DFA and claims that the area where the vessels were spotted is under their jurisdiction, I would not be surprise at all if some of the PLAN warships are eventually spotted just off the coast of Palawan in the very 'NEAR' future... http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/01/09/12...itime-intrusion

China: Intrusion charge groundless BEIJING—China on Monday said accusations its navy recently entered Philippine waters were “groundless,” as it warned Manila against causing disturbances in the disputed South China Sea (West Philippine Sea). On Sunday, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs said it had conveyed “serious concerns” to the Chinese embassy in Manila over China’s recent actions in the West Philippine Sea. The DFA said two Chinese vessels and a navy ship were sighted in the vicinity of Escoda Shoal, which is about 113 kilometers (70 miles) off Palawan, on December 11 and 12. A Philippine military commander said they apparently came from a Chinese-occupied reef in the disputed Spratlys islands then cruised into Philippine waters. “China will not accept the groundless accusations from the Philippine side,” China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Liu Weimin told journalists. “We hope the Philippines will not create something from nothing and cause disturbances.” Escoda is well within the Philippines’ internationally recognized 200-mile exclusive economic zone, but China claims all of the South China Sea, including the potentially oil-rich Spratlys islands.Insisting that the Escoda (Sabina) Shoal lay within its territory, China told the Philippines that it saw nothing wrong with the passage of three Chinese vessels near the sandbar in the West Philippine Sea on December 11 and 12, the DFA said Monday. Raul Hernandez, the DFA spokesperson, told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that Bai Tian, charge d’ affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Manila had “verbally said that Sabina Shoal has a Chinese name and is within their territorial jurisdiction. full story just click here click here |
