Russian Sea power on the WPS would be negligible since they don't intend to mess around where its not beneficial to them. The price tag on the Sukhoi Su-30 is about the same as a brand new F-18, since our pilots were already familiar with the F-18 plus the Higher payload capacity of the F-18 over the SU-30. The US couter part of the SU-30 would have to be the F-15 not the F-15E.

Russian sea power in the Pacific is not that a priority in the WPS, more likely Russia views the WPS as a Chinese problem and is of no concern for their naval assets. Russia is more interested in increasing their Northern Fleet, Baltic Fleet and the Black Sea Fleet strike and defense potential. As I stated before the Russians have no interest in our little water way they are more interested in keeping the Chinese out of the Polar regions so that the oil and natural gas their is all to themselves. The WPS dispute is a benefit in disguise to the Russians as this would tie down a significant number of PLAN vessels rather than sending those vessels to the Polar region.

Xwolf you stated that PAF pilots are familiar with the F-18, how is this even though the PAF have no F-18's in the first place? Just curious. Offtopic lang muna.

and during the Balikatan Exercises in 2002, on 2002 they were not allowed to fly it Officially but were given training in maintenance and ordnance handling for the F-18

A flash point may or may not come but the need to ready and anticipate all possible moves of the enemy (China) must be taken into account. Being reliant on degraded donations from a major ally is no longer the option as this will impede our urge to seriously modernize.

Firtst we need something to copy, ask license to manufacture and then make our own design. the Goyo is good design we can start from there on the Navy side, for the Airforce we still need something better than what we got on our arsenal. On the Army side, we can actually do it we just need a better design than what we just created.

The GOYO is indeed a good design to start with but the shipbuilding companies here in the Philippines can do better and more "Warship" applicable. The key in dominating the WPS theater is to have a modern air force which we do not have at the moment, but that can be mitigated by diversifying our options and sources of weapons, surveillance, recon and strike assets, same as the army.

ni84 let us create our own design then! No more US or Russian Design I'm Currently downloading a web designer to create a sketch for our own AFV i suggest you do the same and who ever finish up first create a new thread that would definitely help our local manufacturers. that way we could Finally say The Philippine Brand.

Rules:

Design and Capabilities must meet Philippine Defense Requirements

Weapons System Must be with in own capability needing to say NO ICBM or Missile Laden Aircraft loaded with the state of the art weapon system

Lets stick with reality!

These systems will make Chinese adventurism in the WPS a dream. Arm a Su-34 with BrahMos hypersonic missile and you have a flying flat-top killer.

A asymmetrical response to the Chinese and fellow claimant naval superiority.
