if I am him I will get out of PMA immediately, its no longer honorable to stay there when your classmates know that you entered PMA not on your merit but because your father bought your entrance. |

I agree! This is not just for 2cl Carolina's image but resigning NOW will definitely help the PMA a lot in regaining its glory. We should also kick out all officers and members of the faculty in the PMA who brought shame in that institution. "General cleaning" kungbaga....to give it a glorious look. :thumb: |

Mistah Mafia?????

I agree, and not only in the military but also in the civilian corporate world. My father was once runover in a promotion bid to a higher rank when a Mason colleague was promoted instead since the board is dominated by Masons! |

Anyone who comes to a counter-insurgency thinking it`s about killing terrorists is missing the boat. It`s really about winning the people. You can kill all the terrorists but then you`ve pissed people off and created 100 more. -Col. Bradley Becker | |

Such misdeeds of "palakasan" happen wherever you go. It's always frustrating to be the one who gets passed over for an appointment or promotion due to such reasons. The best thing is to carry on smartly and be rest assured that you can look anyone straight in the eye because you still have your integrity or in so many words . . . . HONOR! I have a classmate way back from high school whose physical standards should not have been admitted in the Academy (but was still accepted). The rumor was his late father's influence made this possible since he was a senior ranking officer in the AFP. Now if this is true, then this former classmate of mine will have to live with this myth. But then again, I still wish him success. |

I'm revising my line of thinking. I used to think that PMA should be THE military institution in the country. Not any more. The one thing that breeds the mistah attitude is that feeling of coming from one school, very much that same crock imbibed by the UP Vanguards ROTC. I say revive the old BMI (Baguio Military Institute), or start another military school that gives REAL military training, such as combat weaponcraft, bushcraft, combat tracking, military management, military history, etc. No more sissy "hop" parties and Hundredth Night Shows; we ought to be putting MILITARY back in military training. Any civvie course should have the military edge emphasized, so BS Engineering must be geared to weapons design and production, and BS Management should be given to military administration. Military education on the mold of the Reichswehr. |
